Oh my.. Wow. That's it! How could I deny before? It's so obvious! All I have to do is believe I'm a sinner and that Jesus went to the cross to pay for my sins! It has to be true, because you said so. You must be a genius to have read that in the bible and just went and believed. I'm so sorry that I've been this much of a moron. All of that scientific evidence that points against religion must have been planted by Satan to sway us away from knowing the truth! Thank you, thank you so much! I'm so happy.

MorelOrel is incorrect in his interpretation of what Jesus said.
A rich man asked Jesus what else he should do, besides observing the laws that God gave us.
Jesus knew that the man was wealthy, and knew that giving up his possessions would not be an option for him, that he would accept.
The man's possessions were "gods" to him, because they were so important to him that they held a greater value than the words spoken to him by God, himself.
At the end of that story, the man just walked away frustrated, not wanting to have heard Jesus say what He said.
A "god"(small g- A/K/A idol) is anything or any being that you give reverent adoration to, rather than to the Creator; therefore, a god could be your house, your car, your Led Zeppelin collection, etc.
If anything takes focus off of God in your life, to the point of in some way denying God, then that thing is your god.

If you believe this, is it selfish for Christians to cry at funerals, since Christians are going to a better place.
Look, heaven and hell are the carrot and the stick of the church meant to get people to behave in a certain matter. Unfortunately, when people realize they are getting duped, they tend to disregard both. Wouldn't it be better to teach people how to act based on a better conception of the world rather than the lust for streets of gold (greed, by the way) or the fear of eternal damnation.
For what it's worth, I think when we die, we become plant fertilizer. And so begins our afterlife. Our egos just have a hard time letting ourselves go.

I don't believe in the Bible as a source of true information about such things. Sorry.
Heaven and hell are what we create for ourselves here on earth.
Jesus said, "The Kingdom of Heaven is INSIDE YOU."

The bible, specifically Jesus, also said that a sure way to get to heaven is to sell all you own and give it to the poor.
If going to heaven is the ultimate goal of Christians... why do any of you still own anything?

Heaven is inside of you, we have been raised up together to sit with him in heavenly places
God is in us and we are in him
Heaven is a place of existence,
Not up, not down all around and in you
Jesus said he is coming back to earth to fight the Battle of Armageddon, and bring thousands upon thousands of his saints with him.
If you are here you will take your place with him, if not
weeping and wailing, cry for the rocks and the mountains to fall on you, because of that awful day.
He will take vengeance on Satan and his angles
What a day, where will you stand?

Uhmm, actully, we are to "Repent" of our sins, that is to confess them and forsake them and try our best to not do them again, and put our faith and trust in Christ alone. There is a difference between believing Christ and having faith in Christ. Its like believing in a parachute and actually putting it on. You find out the difference when you jump out of the plane.

"if you believe that just look up and ask him"
This is a brilliant method of 'self-brainwashing'
You set the follower on a set goal of brainwashing themselves. If it doesn't work, then you blame them. They weren't really trying hard enough. It reminds me of something . . . oh yes, EVIL!
