Surely, being an earlier version, it's more likely to be like the Hebrew/Greek Scriptures than later versions (which have all be modernised anyway)?

If the Word of God is for all time then why change how it is written to make it more pleasant?

I am also using this question to say goodbye. I have lost over 50 pts just trying to say goodbye. They removed the same question 3 different times all at once for a supposed "violation."

I have officially decided to hang up my Yahoo! Answers hat. I will choose best answer and view my best answers and then once all that is resolved I will no longer log into Yahoo! Answers.

Its been fun and interesting. I have grown and learned from both Christians, Atheists and other faiths. Take a moment and review my questions/answers. If you feel like emailing me to discuss any topic my email address is egoeimi17@yahoo.com. (IM also)

I am leaving because this has been an addiction which has prevented me from getting other things done. I hope I have been able to shed some light and reveal that some Christians are intellegent and rationale.

May you ALL continue to seek the truth!

I would like to hear only from Jews on this one, if possible.

I have heard that the Jewish faith does not consider itself to be the only true religion on earth. I even heard Dr. Laura Schlessinger (a well-known Jew) say something to that effect on the radio a few days ago.

I have also learned that there are a few different movements within Judaism (e.g., orthodox, reform, ...). Do Jews consider each movement to be just as true as the others?

From a Jewish perspective, is it required, recommended, or even hoped that I, a non-Jew, convert to Judaism?

Thank you for your help.

I certainly think so hence the say no to jesus. Think about it. If you have faith that you are right and will be rewarded for it after you die and that everyone else is wrong and will be punished for it after they die and you no longer care about evidence or facts it's simply a matter of you are right and everyone else is wrong and in your head that's a fact. Can you really quit and leave that religion and think logically about facts again? Faith and religion is more addictive and dangerous than any drug and so should have a minimum age limit of at least 16 on it. Say no to jesus.

I'm reading from Exodus 4:23 and I'm having a hard time following the plot. It goes like this:

And if you refuse to let him go, behold I will slay thy son, even thy firstborn.

And it came to pass by the way, that the Lord met him, and sought to kill him.

Then Zipporah took a sharp stone and cut off the foreskin of her son, and cast it at his feet, and said, "Surely a bloody husband art thou to me."

I suspect someone has expunged key words here, for I cannot follow the gist of the story.

Church people, can you help me out here? Replies from scholars also appreciated.

I've often heard that nobody can get elected as President unless they're religious. So my question is this:

Who would you vote for? An atheist who believes we're living in the best of times - or a Christian who believes we're living in the end of times?

I think it is hilarious.

What is yours?

Rather than in heaven?

Surely if he exists in heaven then he didn't actually lose anything by dying? Unless this life is better than heaven.

So how is he a sacrifice and why should people be grateful?

Or is it more of a sacrifice because WE have lost HIM, rather than him losing anything?

Aside from the cliche answer of "just ask God", what practical steps can I take to humble myself toward another person? There is a person at work I utterly despise because he is the most pompous person I have ever met, and tries to make me look like an 4$$ even when he makes the mistake. I find myself thinking bitter thoughts toward him, and I know it is not good to do so. Believers (of any variety)...unbelievers...got any advice? I'd rather not "talk to him" about it...I prefer a less confrontational approach. I'm just not sure what I can do aside from that. Can you think of any other ways of eliminating these thoughts toward him?

Several students scribbled crosses and bible scriptures across an atheist teacher's board while she was gone. I am actually Christian like them, but I find it horribly disrespectful and un-Christian. Is this odd or should I be this way. Considering the bible says "judge not or you shall be too" and something about not forcing religion on others.

Christians go on about the Son, Jesus, but what about the holy spirit? Who is that entity, what did it do? It must be important because of it is part of their trinity belief. So why less PR?

What "evil" deeds are gays supposedly trying to accomplish?

I know a few Homosexuals (Mostly Lesbians) and as far as I can tell, all they want is to be left alone and treated the same way everyone else is.

I was raised in a very conservative environment, but I've never really heard a real description of this "Gay Agenda" and what it entails. I've heard it alluded to a lot, and I've heard how such and such a protest is part of "advancing the Radical Homosexual Agenda" but I've never really heard any descriptions of what that agenda supposedly IS.

Can someone enlighten me?

If you are a good follower of whatever religion, can someone of another religion or outside of your realm put a curse on you? If someone tries to put a curse on you, will you be cursed?, or will your God not allow the curse to happen. Can you be a devout christian and have someone put an actual curse on you to a point where your religion does not work to overcome it.

I spose he didn't since he did the whole'O Lord, why have you forsaken me?' thing but then - how is that fair for God to have used Jesus in that way?
What makes the whole idea of a scapegoat (using an innocent to cleanse the sins of the non-innocent) fair at all?
According to Christain teaching, Jesus then went to heaven, but is it a fair price to pay even so? To make an innocent man suffer for everyone else? He didn't choose to die for people's sins, even if he led himself into that position by his teachings, and tolerated the pain he suffered.
