This section is a great forum for those of us who wish to educate and be educated in regards to our faith(s). What do you (non-believers) get out of making everyone dislike you? You're NOT going to change a believer's mind by the comments I've seen here. Most of us have heard every anti-Christian comment (and I know I've heard EVERY anti-CATHOLIC comment there is).
Just please leave us to our productive discussion. I'm sure there are better-suited discussions for you in the Philosophy and Science sections.

If He 'heals' people with cancer, AIDS etc. why doesn't He heal people with disabilities who's recovery cannot be explained by science?

It seems several Church Christians have professed they are Christians base on their beliefs:

Let's examine what Satan believes:

1. Satan believes that Jesus came to Earth and was the son of God.
2. Satan believes that Jesus came to Earth to save our souls.
3. Satan believes that Jesus died on the cross and rose again.
4. Satan believes that Jesus died for the remission of our sins.

The Church Christians say they believe these same 4 things and that makes them Christians.

By their definitions, is Satan a Christian because he believes the same 4 things?

Now, might we re-examine John 3:16 and discern what it really means in regards "to believe in Jesus"

If someone came to you and said, "I am the way to Heaven, (or God's good graces of salvation)

would you not ask "what are your instructions for living my life so that I can get to Heaven"? Jesus provided us over 100 verses of instructions. Shouldn't we read them, and follow them, before we say we believe in Jesus?

Will I get to see my husband after I die?

I have been having a huge problem the past 6 months. I am constantly paranoyed that the "end" is near. About a year ago I found god. I had always believed but there were times I questioned whether he existed. I would sin and pray like I was reading a text book. It was memorized. It was never like I was Communicating with God. Now I talk to him constantly, I am ALWAYS trying to not be ignorent and sin without knowing its a sin. I am constantly thinking is this a sin? Is this a sin? Now I wont eat till I am full, I try not to lie, I wont say anything abd about someone or judge, I wont by myself nice things anymore. I feel guilty every time I even think about buying my self some nice sunglasses or that cute shirt in the store. I always ask for forgiveness. But now m life is miserable I have no fun, everything costs money and I should probably be donating it to a charity than spending it on myself. Also I am haunted by my past I didnt respect my body and sadly I am no longer a virgin.....

Jesus didn't want women stoned to death for being raped?
Jesus didn't want a woman's hand cut off for defending her husband?
Jesus wanted an end to the judgmental, corrupt leaders of his time?
He thought he was on the righteous path, helping those in need, which is why he asked God "Why have you forsaken me?"

Just feeling this out...I'm thinking of making a case for this, and writing an essay. I don't believe in Satan or God, but I think the Bible illustrates very poor morality and this may be an impactful way to flay it open. Your opinion, please, about whether this will be effective and will get noticed. Thanks!

What people fail to recognize is when Jesus fulfilled the Ten Commandments He fulfilled it all, He said He is the Sabbath come and rest in me.There is no particular day , everyday is a rest day in Christ Jesus, They just chose Sunday because Paul in the bible got together for church on the first day of the week.So if Jesus is in your heart then we have that true rest in Him. I have so much more to say,you can give your opinion back.So what do you think?

Last night I asked a question which apparently provoked some reconsideration of conduct by a Christian user here. (I am not going to go into detail because my purpose here is not to call out or complain about this user, but merely to examine the differences in thinking.)

She emailed me this morning and the following is a quote from the email - "God uses all people, my friend and whether you believe or not God used you yesterday".

I found that quote really interesting in an academic sense because I, of course, think that God had no part in my question and that I came up with it on my own. If somebody had asked a question that causing me to deeply reflect on my conduct or my views, I would have thanked them for asking such an insightful question.

Again, I am not complaining. I don't need a thank you and it matters little to me whether any *credit* for my question is attributed to me or God. But from an academic standpoint, I find the whole thing interesting.

What are your thoughts?

If he is omniscient he knows what he will choose to do at every point in the future. That means that he cannot choose to do something different. That means he has no free will.

If you say he doesn't know what he will choose, then he's not omniscient. If you say omniscience doesn't include knowing the future then you are changing the meaning of omniscience.
