In the Garden of Eden, God designates one tree off limits, and he warns man never to touch its fruit on pain of death. The forbiden fruit is that of the of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. The Hebrew word for knowledge, "da'at", means sexual knowledge. "To know" is the biblical verb that implies more than the sexual act alone. It is an elegant euphemism for the intimate and sensitive understanding that evolves over time within a sexual relationship.

Since "Time" is a scientific mystery --- God expands the Universe, he's the alpha & omega --- we don't have any central point to calculate how long Adam and Eve stayed in the Garden of Eden. It could have been days, years, decades, milliniums. So, without the Hebrew "Knowlege", wouldn't you be lonly too?

The story of Adam and Eve in Genesis is an allegory that explains mankind's downfall from the grace of God. Their son Cain married, so where did his wife come from? Abel was supposed to have been married before Cain murdered him; so again, where did his wife come from? In addition to Eve and some say even before Eve, Adam purportedly had an unfaithful wife named Lilith; so where did she come from? Obviously, there were other human beings in the picture. An allegory, according to Merriam-Webster, is "the expression by means of symbolic fictional figures and actions of truths or generalizations about human existence."
