Just feeling this out...I'm thinking of making a case for this, and writing an essay. I don't believe in Satan or God, but I think the Bible illustrates very poor morality and this may be an impactful way to flay it open. Your opinion, please, about whether this will be effective and will get noticed. Thanks!

In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do.

The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of Gods plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice.

Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod.

Oddly, proof for The Christian satan/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology.

Other hints about Satan’s role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It’s meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the Satan idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology.

maximum sections of the Bible are titled by utilizing the presumed resource. There are sixty six boks interior the full bible. 39 books are from the previous testomony, and 27 books are of the recent testomony. as an occasion, you will possibly have heard of the e book of "Matthew". One might think of that Matthew easily wrote this e book. yet, it is not the way it labored decrease back in those days. the human beings that wrote that e book have been pupils of the training of "Matthew". they might have written the e book over 4 hundred years after the events they tell of opened up. in case you play the recreation telephone, you comprehend that the tale advised by utilizing the 1st individual is on no account the comparable because of the fact the tale advised by utilizing the final individual. human beings purely can no longer tell the tale the top comparable way by means of time. on no account the fewer, they tell the tale of their instructor whom possibly lived on the time of the form. The Bible is then a selection of pupil writings of those teachings.

You can actually make a very strong case for this, of course the stridently religious would be against it and naturally use the bible to try and prove you wrong (blissfully disregarding how ignorant and stupid this is in the hypothetical situation where the bible was written by satan). It can be seen as a potent propaganda machine. It convinces people that god is "good" but in this case "good" equates to murdering children (Deuteronomy 21:18-21 and Mark 7:9-10), killing anybody who worships other gods (especially if its your family) (Deuteronomy 13:7-11), etc...

Hell, a great (and funny) place to look is:

Or I love Richard Dawkin's description of God from the God Delusion:

"The God of the Old Testament is arguably the most unpleasant character in all fiction. Jealous and proud of it, a petty, unjust, unforgiving control freak, a vindictive bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser, a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidical, filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully."

>> "satan is oppisite of god/ie god is good
satan is evil
any part that says god is not good must be regatrded as decieved
by the great deciever"

Have you read the bible fully? God is NOT good in the slightest or by any possible construction of the word. Unless you are willing to admit that murdering children, rape, slavery, polygamy, genocide, racism, hatred, prejudice, destruction of non-believers, and so on are all "good."

I have been saying that for years. God and Satan had a bet going. God said, no one will believe the bible is the word of God, and Satan said, I can convince the majority of people on Earth that it is. I have said it in answers to questions here but they always get the thumbs down. I will be surprised if this question does not get reported.
None of that is real though. It is just a book.

Perhaps it's Satan's way of keeping people out of the true paradise: Hell.

Hell has this phenomenal marketing department that has painted it as a place where it's all about eternal torment, just to keep the Christians out. They just didn't want to put up with the constant proselytizing, and it would keep up property values as well.

I think Hell is actually a combination of Vegas, Cancun, Waimea Bay, and tons of championship golf courses. Happy hour lasts 24 hours a day. You can still smoke in bars. 80 degrees everyday. Awesome surf, with 70 degree water so you don't have to wear a wet suit. And the beaches, topless of course, who needs modesty?

Adam and Eve were slaves to god until "Satan" freed them by sharing with them the tree of knowledge. After this Adam and Eve saw that their potential was so much more then what god had tricked them into believing. God deceived humans for his selfish and perverted purposes of power and control. Humans have gone on to do great things, many time god has tried to destroy these things (ex. Tower of Babel).

God is very resentful towards people because we now have surpassed the need for him, and, in many ways, surpassed his morality as well.

Hows that?

The Bible does give examples of improper morality. This does not say that God condones it.
I think presenting your case would be controversial but difficult to prove.

Naw, sounds too much like the trendy other stuff. Like how the feminists think the Bible is sexist; the homosexuals think the Bible was written by homophobes; the Cindy Sheehan types who think the Bible was written by people who like hate crimes.

See? Too trendy with all the contemporary jargon. Refine your ideas a little bit. More original.

Good luck on proving the Bible is void of morals. It is the very place to find out what morals are

i often wondered this too. if satan did write the bible then he would have every reason to proclaim himself as god. throughout the bible you can see the devestation brought about by "god". what easier way to deceive right? tell people what they want to hear ."god is good, god is just, god is holy" but elsewhere in the bible "god murders, commands for death of women and children, lets his chosen kill in his name".
