If you are a good follower of whatever religion, can someone of another religion or outside of your realm put a curse on you? If someone tries to put a curse on you, will you be cursed?, or will your God not allow the curse to happen. Can you be a devout christian and have someone put an actual curse on you to a point where your religion does not work to overcome it.

Religion cannot protect you. Curses are real. I have seen their effects on a person. Harry Potter is viewed as just a good movie and books, but people don't realize that everything in there is REAL. I have had curses placed on me, but they WILL NOT MATERIALIZE because curses are brought to pass by demons (yes, demons exist for real), but I have accepted Jesus Christ to be my personal Lord and Savior, and thus am untouchable by the demons without Christ's permission. If you have a King James Bible, read the story of JOB (he has a whole book of the Bible dedicated to his story of how Satan cursed him, killed all ten of his children, caused enemies to steal or slaughter all of his camels and sheep and killed many of his servants. However, Job refused to curse God and die. He remained faithful to God, and thus remained untouchable by Satan). Again, religion will not protect you; I am friends with a Catholic who knows all too well about the truth and effects of curses -- but she was not protected. Not until she placed her trust in the Lord Jesus Christ was she safe out of Satan's reach.

The BIBLE mentions about eternal punishment for someone using magic... so it recognises the existence of the black / white art.
I dont know about other realm, but I have seen people practicing black magic and put curses on others = it does work.

Well at least thats what I want to believe too that God would not prevent curses landing on an individual but I cant give you a definite answer on that only Him.
When you say devout christian, do you believe in the religion or god? Just because you go to church everyweek and attend mass doesnt mean you are devout to Him.
Your RELIGION will not help in your darkest hour, only your FAITH. Of course that are other ways to counter the curse, which is the defensive magic or the white arts, but those 2 methods are forbidden to use in general.
Best bet your FAITH TO GOD, call for his help.

I had a traditional satanist tell me this one, because I did ask something similar at one point in time.
Okay... I don't know a LOT about religions because I grew up Judeo Christian, and so that's my point of reference, but have since turned from that path into a poly-theistic one.
Anyways... the in a nutshell way it works is this. I say I curse you, and you worry about it so much that what happens is you cause whatever you thought I did (whether or not I ACTUALLY did do something) to come to pass. People bring to them what they think most on.
My advice is if you are a devout christian and you had someone say they put a curse on you, stop worrying about it, because the universe will respond most to whatever you have the most energy on. If you just let it go, and stop thinking and obsessing about it, you should be fine.
I hope it helps.

No. Generally the way a curse works has to do with the way the "cursee" reacts to the knowledge that the curse exists. If you believe its all nonsense then usually nothing comes of it. If you never find out, nothing comes of it. If you strongly believe in your faith and believe that either you yourself or your Deity can protect you nothing will come of it.

But, strict adherence to the rules and teachings of your faith aren't the point. Your faith and belief in it is. There are stories of people who have tried to curse others only to find that "something" somehow prevented bad things happening to their targets. Or that others have tried to enter churches or another Pagan group's rituals only to feel something compelling them to leave.

If you have faith and believe in your God then a curse can't hurt you. What can is the fact that you are afraid of it. Also it may be that you are in a time where you need to be learning something and any troubles you are having can be resolved by just dealing with them. Pray and ask for protection and guidance and know that it will come, you'll be fine.

Be Blessed.

Simple Answer:
No

Elaborated:
In Christianity there are no such things as curses.
Thus meaning if you do not follow those beliefs of curses, voodoo, etc.., then you wont take part in it.

Knowledge is power - if you feel your relationship with God is secure - and only then (I advise) - then look up other religions on the internet, pagan, wiccan, voodoo, satanism even. Find out what is out there and what people are doing. Knowledge is power.

Blessed,
Nick

To all the clueless, yes, you can have a curse put on you. Your religion will NOT save you from it, no matter how devout you are. Only Jesus can save you from it, IF you keep in memory all that I (Jesus) have taught you..., we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, powers, and wickedness in high places. Thanks for the question! You can be a devout person in your church and have a demon! Many don't believe that, that is why this is such a good question.

Someone could do to me only what God allows to be done. If He allowed it then I would understand that He also had a reason for it.
