I would like to hear only from Jews on this one, if possible.

I have heard that the Jewish faith does not consider itself to be the only true religion on earth. I even heard Dr. Laura Schlessinger (a well-known Jew) say something to that effect on the radio a few days ago.

I have also learned that there are a few different movements within Judaism (e.g., orthodox, reform, ...). Do Jews consider each movement to be just as true as the others?

From a Jewish perspective, is it required, recommended, or even hoped that I, a non-Jew, convert to Judaism?

Thank you for your help.

We do believe we are the only true faith.
As an Orthodox Jew, I believe that Reform and Conservitism are nonsense.
It is not recomended that non-Jews convert.

As a Jew, we do believe that there are other religions in the world. Unlike others, we recognize people and there beliefs. Too bad most other religions in this world do not see it that way.

The orthodox look down on the reform because we do not practice everything the Bible asks us to such as keep Kosher, follow every Sabath, etc. However, all Jews are Jews and there is not a good and bad. We all believe in the same beliefs, just practice them slightly different. Therefore, we are not segregated from one other such as Catholic or Baptists.

No, we do not care if you convert to Judaism. However, you should respect us just as we respect your beliefs.

If Dr. Laura Schelissinger is the Dr. laura that I am thinking of...she is a petty, and hateful, bigot that does NOT represent many Jews in ANYTHING she says.

I am Jewish....I'm also non-practising/agnostic....but if I were to accept God, it would be as a Jew. I still would say no...it was only true for me.

The minute we start calling our beliefs Truth with a big T...we are in trouble..and well on the way to becoming dangerous extremists.

Considering the actions of the Jews over history...I don't think Jews think they have a monopoly on Truth. We leave people alone.

Its difficult to define what you mean by the only true religion on Earth. While Judaism dose not accept the validity of religions such as Christianity and Islam it also dose not advocate is members to seek out converts among them.

The reason for this is because it is not seen nessicary for a person who is not Jewish to observe Judaism. As long as the person has some sort of Monotheistic faith and is a good person that is seen as acceptable.

as for Jewish movements most of them don't work the same way as they do in other religions. They more or less define themselves on levels of observance of traditional Jewish law. The Orthodox are the most observant and see movements such as Conservative and Reform non valid forms of Judaism due to there lack of observance of Jewish law. Conservative view Reform in the same manner. While Reform and Conservative both view the Orthodox as overly stringent and backwards.

as for conversion it is not recommended for someone who is not Jewish to convert to Judaism. As stated one can follow a perfectly valid path outside Judaism, but if one feels the desire to be part of the Jewish people he can convert.

I have several friends who are Messianic Jews believing in Jesus. They hold onto their Jewish traditions while including Jesus in everything. God has a purpose filled life for each one of us. The only thing He requires from us in order to receive that abundant life is to acknowledge Jesus as our savior. God is all about enjoying a relationship with us and He has made that possible through the work of Jesus. True followers of Christ, Christians, do not identify their faith with a religion.

No, because that is the in trouble-free terms faith who would not trust in evangelizing, which means they in trouble-free terms evaluate you a jew in case you mom and father or your mom is a jew , so in the adventure that they don't trust in people growing to be a member of their religions they definitly does no longer their personal people to regulate theirs! and jews prepare their youngsters from a very youthful age how they are god's chosen people and the position their kingdom must be so as that would not seem as if encouraging personal reflection to me!

it begins in Judaism, and ends in christianity..

its people who seperate and divide rather than unite.

an accurate understanding can see they both are of the same origin.

but people would rather argue and fight over whos right and whos wrong.
