I could spend pages answering all these questions but it would be better if you read the Bible to understand.
Basically, he died as a mortal, to save our souls from eternal damnation. He took our sins on and paid the ultimate price for them so we wouldn't have to.
If someone jumped in front of a speeding train to save you from it and died because of it, would you be grateful to that person for the rest of your life? I would hope so.
Because he is in heaven now waiting for the day he returns doesn't mean he didn't suffer a horrible death when he was here. For us I might add again. He could have gone on about his life and business not concerned about us, as so many people do today. But he chose to put himself in harms way so that we could enjoy an eternity of happiness.
Sure he's in heaven now, but so will we be someday and I have no desire to have my carcass whipped within inches of my life, with my flesh being ripped off and nailed to a cross to get there. And he did that for us.
Someday when you're older, you might come to appreciate and understand what it means to sacrifice something.
Like I said, give the Bible a read and make your own determination on what's what.
Good Luck

It is about "spiritual death" not a physical one. Jesus Christ shed His blood on the cross to be the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. In the Jewish traditions, which Jesus and His Disciples never denounced. The people believed in sacrificing animals to gain forgiveness.
Now, all have obtained that gift, because Jesus Christ is the Lamb of God. He took upon himself all the sins of every person in the world, died, and was risen again to conquer the devil; so that all who believe will be granted eternal life.
He did not lose anything, but if we do not believe and accept what He did for us; we will lose everything - for eternity.
The Bible clearly states, that He was resurrected from the dead, taken to heaven, He sits at the right hand of God (Jehovah, Yahweh) and one day will return.

Most people cant see the forest throught the trees.
Go look at a crucifix and that human being or God whatever you choose. If that suffering does not awaken in you compassion then you are a sociopath. Bibles myths dont talk about the flesh they talk about the spirit. They use metaphor to say basic things about spiritual matters. THere not talking about the outside there talking about YOUR insides your Brain your spirit your levels of compasion.
The point is compasion a person who lives in compasion is in heaven. Not some place outside but inside of YOU.
People who point at the fact that a metaphor is a lie are off the track of course there not true phyiscally they are metaphors they are spiritual.

Here is the whole thing explained in the The Nicene Creed:
We believe in one God,
the Father, the Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all that is, seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,
the only son of God,
eternally begotten of the Father,
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made,
of one being with the Father.
Through him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation
he came down from heaven:
by the power of the Holy Spirit
he became incarnate from the Virgin Mary,
and was made man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;
he suffered death and was buried.
On the third day he rose again
in accordance with the Scriptures;
he ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory
to judge the living and the dead,
and his kingdom will have no end.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father [and the Son].
With the Father and the Son
he is worshipped and glorified.
He has spoken through the Prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.
We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look for the resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come. AMEN.

Because it hurt a bunch, it was humiliating, he had to be dead and was NOT in heaven for three days, and he didn't deserve it at all. Also, scripture indicates that all the sin, evil, and suffering of the world was felt by him when he was on the cross. Just think, all the suffering and evil ever felt by anyone. Finally, he had to have the most painful thing that we can't even imagine yet. He was completely cut off from God and his presence. God turned his face away from him and he was where God is not during his "dead time."
We should be grateful not because of how much he suffered though, but because he saved US from dying forever.

In Jesus' death, he paid the penalty for our sins. It's not that we do not have to die - millions of believer's have already - it's that we do not have to pay the penalty for sin. Just as Jesus was raised from the tomb, we have the promise that we likewise will have eternal life.
In just coming to earth as a babe, Jesus had to lay down all of his power of being part of the Godhead that had created the entire universe. Yes, Jesus was there in the beginning with The Father and The Holy Spirit in creating our universe. In order to save mankind, he lowered himself, gave up his power, to take the form of a man, so that he could instruct us, and ultimately die a sacrifical death for us. Laying down your powers as God, is quite a sacrifice.
You are right that Jesus considered the cost of the sacrifice and the benefits that would be obtained. What Jesus obtained was salvation for all of mankind, if they accepted it. He considered his lost of Godly power and death on a cross to be worth reconciling us to God - the ultimate display of love.
You say we have lost Jesus because of the sacrifice? Nay, for before Jesus was only with people face to face. While he was with the Disciples he could not be with everyone else, but now Jesus is everywhere. Jesus is as close as the mention of his name. So now we have Jesus even more than we had him before, and he also sent a helper to us, the Holy Spirit. We also have this promise from God. " I will never leave you nor forsake you." I for one, am so grateful to God for the sacrifices he has made on my behalf.

He died physically but not spiritually.
"He didn't lose anything by dying?" Why don't you test that out. Let people spit on you. Let them beat you until your bowels are hanging outside of your body. Then pick up a 150 pound tree and drag it up a hill. Lay willingly upon that tree and let them nail spikes through your wrists and ankles. Then hang there for hours as the vultures circle your head waiting for you to die. Then come back and tell me that it was nothing.

He died on a cross, according to the scripture, was buried, and rose again the third day, according to the scripture. While he was dead, he was in hell. That is the death he was raised from and that is the death we are saved from. The eternal death. He went to heaven and sprinkled his blood on the alter for us to be reconciled to God. When he rose again, there were other saints who had died, that were risen and spoke to people on earth before going to heaven as another testimony to the Resurrection.

It means he defeated death.
The penalty of sin is death. Because we all have sinned, our just payment we owe is death. Instead, Jesus paid this penalty in our place so we wouldn't have to. He was sinless and owed nothing. He freely sacrificed His life for many. At any moment, he could have called the angels to come and take him home instead He loved us first, before we loved him and made a way.
He was ridiculed, spat on, whipped, stripped, and crucified... He endured life on this earth and a painful death because of His love. My gratitude is because He gave His life freely so I would never have to taste death. My hope lies in the cross ... that he is resurrected.

No. As stated in the Bible, He arose on the third day after His death.
His death caused Him much suffering. No. He lost nothing; we gained everything.
He was sacrificed to pay for our sins. We should be grateful because in dying, He gives us a free ticket to Heaven, if we accept it.
We have not lost Him. He is there for the taking.
