Christians go on about the Son, Jesus, but what about the holy spirit? Who is that entity, what did it do? It must be important because of it is part of their trinity belief. So why less PR?

some of the churches that I have been to do not explain anything about accepting Christ, not just believing his existance and who He is.. but accepting His Gift of Grace.. it isnt until we choose Christ that the Holy Spirit comes into us to guide us in our lives... i think it is a denomination problem... churches with 'doctrine' that is more man made do not seem to teach the "WHOLE" truth and what the Holy Spirit is all about.

Jesus said "I will send you another counselor' and that is the Holy Spirit ...

The Holy Spirit is necessary for teaching, comforting, etc. The Holy Spirit is a very important part of the Trinity. The Holy Spirit is God.

God the Father (#1 of the Trinity)
God the Son (#2 of the Trinity)
God the Spirit (#3 of the Trinity)

Though they are equal, this is the best way I can explain it.

They have always existed and always will.

Friend I am not trinity. The Holy Ghost is none other than the same spirit of God as the creator, only God is not in the office work now as a creator but as the comforter. There is no 3 spirits, nor 3 persons in the Godhead, There is only one, God as the creator, God in his Son reconciling the world back unto himself as the Redeemer in Jesus Christ & then God as the Holy Ghost & the Comforter. But all by only One spirit. God is a spirit & the Holy Ghost is a spirit, They all the self same spirit of God only in different parts of his redemptive plan. God Has never been a person & neither has the holy Ghost. For example, I am a husband, I am a Dad, & I am a Grand-dad, But I am not 3 different persons or spirit. So is it with God, you have God the creator, Then God in his Son as the redeemer, then God in us as the Comforter, But all by One spirit. & not 3. One reason you don't hear as much about the Holy Ghost is because many don't have it & they also can not explain the Godhead.

Isabellar,

There is less knowledge because the majority of today's church going christians have no relationship with God.

Even lesser have received the Holy Spirit.

The bible states that the spirit is a counsellor and guide to the believers of Christ. Without this counsellor, how can a christian expect to grow into christ? The Holy Spirit is of paramount importance in the development towards holiness and sanctity. Without which, no man can understand what is the will of the Father. Yet, for even those who have the spirit, they will need to wait for the inspiration that comes from the spirit when he avails himself for revelation.

Whether you believe this or not, is up to you. But the only physical manifestatin of the Holy Spirit is the speaking of tongues. Something that many spirits of errors are now impersonating. But we are to test each spirit to know if they are of God.

Thanks for raising this question.
Satan has caused great mischief through false teachers warning,, Christians away from this God given baptism of power, stunting their effectiveness as witnesses of Jesus Christ.

The Holy Spirit
I believe in the deity and personality of the Holy Spirit (Acts 5:3-4). I believe that the Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8-11). He regenerates sinners (Titus 3:5) and indwells believers (Romans 8:9). He is the agent by whom Christ baptizes all believers into His body (1 Corinthians 12:12-14). He is the seal by whom the Father seals believers unto the day of redemption (Ephesians 1:13-14). He is the Divine Teacher who illumines believers’ hearts and minds as they study the Word of God (1 Corinthians 2:9-12). We believe that the Holy Spirit is ultimately sovereign in the distribution of spiritual gifts (1 Corinthians 12:11).
I believe that in order to live the holy and fruitful lives that Gods intends for us, we need to be baptized in water(Matthew 28:19-20) and be filled with the power of the Holy Spirit enables us to use spiritual gifts, including speaking in tongues.
I believe that God is at work today through the power of His Holy Spirit.
(1 Corinthians 12:4-11; 2 Corinthians 12:12; Ephesians 2:20; 4:7-12).

I don't know about other Christians, but for me the Holy Spirit only witnesses to me when I read direct quotes of Jesus. He has about 100 verses in the Bible. When I find one that I am curious about, I close my eyes and ask the Holy Spirit to witness to me about how to apply that verse to my life, and or to solve my problem. (Jesus said he would send the Holy Spirit to witness to us, and it does)

Now, for me, other verses in the Bible do not evoke the Holy Spirit.

I am trying very hard not to judge others who are always quoting Paul or Peter or their church doctrines. But, those other Bible authors telling me what Jesus said, just doesn't give me that mental, emotional, and physical witnessing that I get when I read Jesus' exact quotes from the Bible.

He is Christ's Spirit he comforts and guides believers. Without Him it's impossible to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. He is very important.

Actually the Holy Spirit does not draw attention to Himself. That is why Christians don't either.
