I'm assuming that the candidate who views that we are living at the end of times, would be more susceptible to warfare, since he/she believes that the end of the world is near.
I vote for the atheist. If they believe that we are living in the best of times, then they would work hard to move society forward.

I would vote for the person according to their actions, not their beliefs. A real follower of Christ should set the example through actions and keeping their word, and I, in turn would vote for that individual.
