I have heard that a muslim has three chances to convert a infidel. If they do not have success then they are required to kill you (or now have that option as per the koren) No were in the christian bible does it say to kill someone if they do not share your views. So would not the muslim belief system be considered evil by a christian because of the above reason? Thus associated with Satan as killing someone is a deadly sin as per the Christians.
I hold no opinion myself (yet) just interested in what other people think

Does anyone know what religions were 'replaced' by Islam- or what religions were practiced in the Middle East prior to the arrival of Mohhamad?
The only answer I have gotten from Muslims I have met was the religions practiced before Islam were 'pagan' religions. Well, paganism is a very general term. Anyone know what specific religions were practiced- and were any of their beliefs, myths or rituals assimilated into Islam?

I tried reading the Bible and the scriptures of other religions and meditating and imagining. All I get is more questions and more doubts and no direction towards anything other than finite things.

I'm tired of atheism. Don't ask why, I'm just tired of it.

Is there any other way to understand God?

While watching the TV I was presented with a news story in which an individual of a religion other than Christian wished to be sworn into their elected office using their preferred religious book. The news promptly had several "Experts" on, to sell the opinion that this was a direct attack on Christianity.
A man I know has been in a committed relationship with another man I know for going on 25 years. They very much would like to legitimize their relationship in the eyes of their friends, family, and the state. They accept that religious institutions will not accept this arrangement and do not invite them to participate.
I am very patriotic and give readily my allegiance to my country. I do however have a difficult time swearing allegiance to someone else’s god.
I had a few more examples but space limitations restrict.
My question then is thus, why do Christians feel persecuted when people of other lifestyles do not wish to adhere to Christian dogma?

You can reason in any way that you would like. I am interested in this subject for research, so I would like to read different opinions

man has this inner "want" to be god-like and what i mean by that is people in general want to think they will live forever and be immortal. look at all the different religions, vew few profess that once dead we cease to exist. most proclaim that we continue living forever.

do you think its just because we naturally just dont want there to be an "end" ?

And if certain bad things had not happened even worse things would have resulted? For instance, When an infant is mauled to death by a rabid dog, might that actually be a good and joyful event in that infant was destined to grow up to build bombs in chemistry class and kill all of the students at the school? Or were all of the students at the school inherently evil, instead?

I think if we know there are aliens and we make contact then firstly we will know whether any religions on earth are real or not. This in my point of view will change the world and the world is not ready. There will be choas. We arent ready and the goverment knows it. Image if christianity or islam or any other religion wasnt real. All hell would break lose.Second, top business men will never allows us to just switch from fossil fuel to free energy so not matter how mcuh evidence you put foward even if you take a alien alive and present it they will kill it and kill any one who knew about it and thats how its going to be

Many people believe there is no God, many people believe there is, many people believe he created the world, and some believe created it using evolution. I am not going to tell you my opinion, it's time for you to tell me yours.
