There are several assumptions in you question that need to be sorted out first. The first one is that there was such a time and a state that can be called "before nothing." Why do you assume there had to be such a "time?"

The second one, though not as obvious, is to do with the nature of "time" itself. When you say "before," you are supposing that time behaves, and has "always" behaved, in a the regular clock-like fashion of our daily existence. But time isn't this invariant clock ruling the age of our universe. By the early part of this century we knew that time was not a uniform absoluteness. For example, something that's moving "very fast" relative to me uses different (slower) time settings.

God says: "It is I, the Personality of Godhead, who was existing before the creation, when there was nothing but Myself. Nor was there the material nature, the cause of this creation. That which you see now is also I, the Personality of Godhead, and after annihilation what remains will also be I, the Personality of Godhead."
Never was there a time that "nothing" exist. If there was a big bang, then He created it and He was the one who put the bomb in it, if you want to see it in that way.

To answer that question one must acknowledge there was nothing before the big bang or creation theory. My opinion is that the light and the dark may have always existed. If we did find out, would it really matter in our everyday lives?

This is the Big Bang ! I personally believe that the Big Bang was the act of Creation in Genesis. It was even greater, it was God Himself that changed His state from Nothingness into Creation, with billions of years later as we know it. The Big Bang is supposed to have taken place 13-14 billion years ago. To come to to-day's creation it then took a long, a very long time. This is evoolution.

before "nothing" was...it wasn't a "what" it was a Who ---- God is His own definition, His own existence. Everything that can be defined by "nothing" does not include God. He is outside of our full understanding, comprehension or knowledge. When you get to the other side of "beginning" where you assume "nothing" was - there you will find God. When you get to the "end" of all things where you assume "nothing" again exists - there you will find God.

In the beginning there was a sea of spirit and it filled all of space. The spirit was static, content, and aware of itself. It was a giant resting on the bosom of its thought and contemplating what it is.

Then the spirit moved into action. It withdrew into itself until all of space was empty. In the center, the restless mind of the spirit shone. This was the beginning of the individuality of the spirit. This was what the spirit discovered itself to be when it awakened. This spirit was God

Before anything we see existed, God says...I AM.

Hard to understand with our finite minds, but there you have it!

God was - He's always been. Beyond that my puny, finite mind cannot wrap around what was when nothing was....

Maybe "before" had no meaning because time didn't exist.
