Did you know that Jesus said...

"An evil and adulterous generation craves for a sign; and yet no sign will be given to it but the sign of Jonah the prophet (that was Jesus' death and resurrection)"

"The men of Nineveh will stand up with this generations at the judgment, and will condemn it because they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and behold, something greater than Jonah is here."

Mat 12:39 and 41

Who do you think the ''men of Nineveh'' are, who have repented?

Are we not living in an evil generation?

If not, have you seen the news lately? Is there anything good to say anymore?

The people were quoted as saying they have faith in god and he will improve thier lives etc etc. Wouldn't it be better to get of there backisides and do something to improve themselves intsead of putting faith in a myth?

Hey everyone. People say that d rapture is when Jesus is comming with d clouds to the earth to save the righteous. However in John 14:19, Jesus himself said that after he was ressurected the world will behold him no more. Yes the scripture that people believe talks about the rapture says,"Every eye will behold me," however in 1Timothy:6:16, Paul said Jesus now dwells inaproachable light," "and not one man can see him or can see him!" John meant see as in to discern or recognise. Jesus is comming in the cloud, in that he will be just as invisible to uo the naked eye as the sun is when it is behind the clouds during daytime, we know it is there because of the daylight that surrounds us. So could you explain to me about the rapture or think about it. This section is for {SWINDLED} LET ME HERE WHAT U HAVE 2 SAY 2 dat, and u haven't answered the hell question, do u believe its a fiery place of torment or not? :-)

If you believe some prophecies or something were fulfilled then state which ones. No vague ones or obvious predictions a fortune teller could prophesize. Also, there are some things that may have been true in the bible, such as locations, wars and such, but a few truths don’t ‘make an entire book true. Tell me logically why you believe it is the word of God when there are so many contradicting views in it.

An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, etc.
Then you are told to turn the other cheek if someone hurts you.

Which one is it? Since when does God change his mind so much? Is he like a woman in a clothing store? Wouldn't you expect more from an 'inspired' bible?

Also, do you speak any other language other than English? Did you translate the oldest bibles ever found? How do you know that the people before them didn't translate it properly? Why do you blindly believe that the bible has to be right? Did you ever think about it really? Actually sit down and think for yourse

There is a scripture that says (Matthew 7:20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.) Why do some christians say people are being to judgmental & critical when the bible says we will know people by their fruits.Example- If I see a person kill somebody and I say they are a murderer thats not being judgmental thats the truth. Now some christians do judge without knowing the facts, but somethings is just the way it is. Truth is the truth. I just want opinions on this scripture from other christians.

Ive been having this recurring dream/nightmare for almost ten years now, Im now 23. I walk into a enclosed space, there I place three gemstones into three seperate holders/containers. I place myself in the center of the three gems, all of a sudden a bright white light envelopes my entire body. And I begin to pan out first the area I was in is enveloped in this light, then the outlying country it was in, then the planet is clearly visible then the solar system, the galaxy we reside in, then the universe itself. I am looking straight at the universe. All of a sudden everything that was enveloped in light begins to make a low screaming noise as if in excrutiating pain, it becomes louder and louder.
Then everything goes dark, no sound can be heard, no light can be seen, nothing can be felt. Absolutely nothing, just darkness.
At this point in time I have either woken up really afraid, or at other times feel like I made a correct decision with no regrets.

some people just cant accept this fact and are moving towards very rigid extreme cults such as islam, scientology and even satanism.
do these foolish people think that just because they join these lunatic cults that the problem will go away and that God will become more real to them?
or are they living in a fantasy world of their own by been exploited by these cults?

I don’t celebrate Saint Valentines Day, Saint Patrick’s Day, Easter—not for eggs, and Halloween and Christmas—don’t believe in Santa Clause. But my girlfriend is making a scene over the matter especially today since its V-Day. I think I should break up with her but I love her so much. But I also don’t want to break my religious convictions… I would rather break up. What you think? Keep in mind my religious convictions.

Just wondering what the main peace of evidence for you personally is.

"I just have faith", "I was just raised that way", "religion is stupid" don't count as interesting answers in my book, so if that's what you were going to write, put the kabosh in that.

Leo Strauss was THE teacher of the Neocons. Reportedly, he taught them that the elites of society must convey myths to their people in order to control them and maintain public order. Strauss supposedly taught neocons that the myth of religion and the myth of america's mission to bring democracy to the world are two key myths for controlling American society.

Looking at the extreme contrast between the Bush administration's actions and the religion they push/exploit, it seems that Strauss's students were listening well.

What do you know about The Chicago School, Strauss, and the neocons? What do you think about the leaders promoting a religion they don't actually believe? Is this making America more moral or is it just destroying cultural unity?

Here's a British documentary on The Straussians and The Jihadists and their twin paths of destruction. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-7930933565201168

For those of you that claim to know what he wants from us and define him in human terms such as omni-potent, Omni-science, benevolent. These are terms that cannot easily be manipulated by interpretation. If his being is indefinable by our feeble minds then why do you even bother trying to understand him? Isn't it useless to give him these characteristics?

Anyway, my point is if God has free will, isn't it possible for him to decide to torment even his loyal followers in Hell? Can't he inflict indescribable and unfathomable pain on all of us for all eternity? God does not abide by any rules does he? He can do anything he wants because he is all powerful and has free will right?

You can claim that he is all good, but then what is your excuse for him causing the death and torment on so many people in the past such as Job and others just to test them? So either he isn't all good, knowing, and powerful, or he doesn't have free will. What is your defense?

Due to the fact that we do not have any of the original manuscripts of the Bible, the Bible has been misinterpreted and mistranslated for centuries, and the fact that we don't even have proof that God wrote or inspired the Bible, would you agree that the Bible is actually pushing us away from God instead of bringing him closer to us?

What are some ideas for counseling a convicted & confessed murderer to convince this killer that it is ok to accept capital punishment?

What are some ideas for counseling a confessed murderer to convince them that it is ok to accept capital punishment?

There was a murder recently in the New Orleans area. A wonderful woman was shot down in cold blood in front of her husand and small child. It was a senseless crime. What are some counseling ideas to convince the person who murdered at least one innocent person, to accept capital punishment for their crime(s)?

What if you were the counselor? What would you say to this person? How would you convince them? Or do you have any tips for someone who might have to counsel a person like this?

Pretty much just what the questions asks, I want to convert my boyfriend to Catholicism, but I know I can't force him. He's in one of those weird religions that thinks Catholics are the most evil thing on earth even though he doesn't. But I want to get him away from it because I'm afraid of the man who runs it, he's telling him all these weird things about Catholicism when he doesn't know anything.

Sorry, rambled.

But does anyone know of a saint for conversion?

The creator of the universe loves us in spite of all our faults, and that when we seek him he answers?

Can I get a "praise God"?

If you don't believe God exists it would nullify any answer to this...but you may speak your mind. :-)

But I suppose if you want to be silly you can say "Praise Darwin!"
