I was reading an article about Nigeria and how the oil companies have raped the country, leaders pocketing huge oil $$$ and the people live in tin shacks and streets full of garbage. The people were quoted as saying they have faith in god and he will improve thier lives etc etc. Wouldn't it be better to get of there backisides and do something to improve themselves intsead of putting faith in a myth?

Yes, it is sad to see how much of the world is living in poverty.

Reading your post, you're suggesting this people have the means and the power to improve their situation but don't as they have faith that someone or something will do if for them? I don't think you finished the article. These people have very little if any control over their lives.

I doubt anyone would choose their lifestyle. I do hope others have their fath.

You're suggesting it is a myth. I suggest differently. We will continue to agree that we disagree.

People do horrible things in the name of God and we somehow get the idea that God actually wants people to die for no reason and suffer.

People...are bad.

People that claim to have faith and really don't...are bad.

Faith is good.
