I have faith.
I read it.
I follow its instruction faithfully.
It WORKS. God speaks back.
Scientific (non-christian, by the way) research has claimed the validity of the bible as 98.5% correct to present-day translation (the only errors are spelling and changing in manuscript use, and they do not change the meaning)
I speak Spanish and some German.

Hmm, just want to add that there is a Bible in Prague, a capital in Europe that was written by a man of the Catholic church. The special with this Bible is that the man who wrote this Bible did it after he had a nightvision in which Lucifer himself requested him to write this Bible. Perhaps it is the same with the real Bible. Someone for a very long time ago got a vision about something and began to retell it for people that then, in the end, become published in the Bible. In spite of what the Bible is I must confess that I admire a book for being so well known for so many years.

An eye for an eye was the old testiment which back then people followed the law better otherwise they would be injured in one way or another but as time went on people in higher society would be able to do things w/o consequence and Jesus told us to turn the other cheek to prevent breaking of one of the commandments. And the other answer is that the priest were the only one who could recopy the scripture and they had to be exactly down to the last hair on the letters which was about 10000BC or so.

After much debate with myself, I have decided to answer this question. The only thing to which you are baffled is really the Holy Spirit. Why? Because until and unless you take a step of faith and allow the Holy Spirit to reveal the truth to you, you can read the Bible until you're blue in the face and it will only appear as more and more falsehoods. Where you are in your understanding/accepting of the Bible is where you have no other choice but to be until you drop logic/proof searching and try faith. God is not afraid to prove himself to you, but only when/if you stand on faith. So now you have a choice, faith or a lifetime of IF questions.

Many individuals over different periods have written sections of the Bible. All corroborate each other. Therefore for so many to be so perfect, only God could be the author through man's hand. Any contradictions are through various peoples reading and interpretetation and not of the content.

We don't, and we never will know if God inspired the bible, because it is simply written hear-say, the only true fact that the bible has to offer is it gave religious clerics a road map to wealth power and control, and that is the only actual bible fact, and the evidence of that is vary clear in our churches contents all over the world today.

Moses did some miracles when He delivered the Word.
Contradictions are explainable when you know the Bible.
There are over 5000 copies from the original manuscripts, they all tell the same story.
When you ask Holy Spirit in your heart to guide you, you will understand everything differently. : )

for one thing u need to study the bible to get a grasp of it ... an eye for an eye was the old jewish law ... it applied to jews and jews only ... the old law mirrored the new testament of Jesus Christ which brought in the true kingdom of God spiritually whereby alll men have access to the new covenant between God and man ....not the old covenant of jewish law ... Jesus spelled it out ...thats the right way, turn the other cheek ... contradictions arise from lack of understanding and education ...

We know god inspired the bible because the bible says that god inspired it. You and your silly questions. Its all right there in black and white. No go back to eating your shrimp cocktail, silly atheist, I'll see you in hell. No really, I will. I've already got my tickets. I'm in the Mussolini section right next to Pol Pot.
