some people just cant accept this fact and are moving towards very rigid extreme cults such as islam, scientology and even satanism.
do these foolish people think that just because they join these lunatic cults that the problem will go away and that God will become more real to them?
or are they living in a fantasy world of their own by been exploited by these cults?

It's the ACLU that is wiping out religion (ie. taking down the ten commandments, etc..) not education or science or any other religion.

It's the mis-educated that aren't even seeing what the ACLU is doing.

The answer to your initial question is no.

Scientific progress and education based on scientific principles is not wiping out any religions. Now given what you've labeled as "extreme cults", I wonder what your definition of "mainstream" would be. Remember, Protestant sects such as the Puritans were seen as the equivalent of extreme cults in England and Catholics and Protestants were actively hunted down during the religious conflicts in England and on the Continent.

It has been said that science is a search for the HOW of the universe and religion is a search for the WHY. As such, these concepts should be complementary to each other and supplementary to everything. Unfortunately, humans tend to be terribly binary about their thinking and classify many things as "I'm right and you're wrong".

The reasons why people convert to other faiths are varied. One common theme is that there are questions that their current faith cannot answer or that the organizations of that faith are seen as corrupt or unable to deal with that person's particular quest in life.

However, while my own personal opinion is that Scientology does seem to have the characteristics associated with cult-like behavior, the other two faiths do not. Islam is not cult-like except when the fervor of some of its adherents are physically manifested through the killing of innocents. And of the Satanists I know, "rigid" is not the word I'd use -- "chaotic", maybe. (BTW, are you aware that modern and classic Satanism both use Christian concepts and symbology of evil?)

Yes the more educated a person is, the more they sway away from doctrine and dogma in the Worlds religions. About your extreme cult comment. Cult-like groups have existed throughout time. The ancient Mayans, I think believed in human sacrifice. Nothing new there.

But thankfully people are turning completely away from religion and strict cults, and onto more logically based, spiritually expanding beliefs.

They are leaving Christianity because Christianity has no place in the modern world. It either changes with the new world or it dies.

Science and education isn't wiping out religion, its wiping out Christianity.

There's a reason the new religions exist. Things such as Wicca. Because, with all the new technology, combined with Christianity, humans are slowly removing themselves from the natural equation and are looking for something new to help them feel connected to the natural world again.

And so the new replaces the old, as evolution always does.

Nothing is forever, not even your religion.

i believe that as people become more open minded, religion in its current forms will continue to lose its power. however, i believe that all humans are natural seekers, so spirituality will never cease to be a part human culture.

as far of cults are concerned, i actually think they will remain uneffected, considering they have no basis in science and educated thinking to begin with. i don't actually think people who join cults are looking for god. more likely they are looking for a mother or father figure to fill some psychological void, most likely caused by an inability to take responsibility for their actions and take control of their own lives.

ps if you are saying islam meaning all or even most muslims, i disagree with your assessment that it is a cult.

Scientists Have always been inventing things to kill each other The spear the chariot the Gun the atom bomb all the inventions of science. Without them fanatical fundamentalist could not kill. Religion has always been telling them not to kill each other.Science keeps fanatical fundamentalist in check.
Science is power and religion is wisdom. Science keeps religion in check and religion keeps science in check. That balance was offset in our secular soulless society and the result is fanatical fundamentalism.
There can be balance there has to be because if either one wins the world is in Big trouble.

There will always be people who are unable to graciously accept their mortality but, like pedophiles and sociopaths, etc. they must overcome their inherent weaknesses and adapt to societal norms. It is just a matter of time before education and broader scientific knowledge relegates these misfits accordingly. Someday people will look back and marvel at how one of them actually got to be president.

The fact is, the higher a persons IQ and the higher their education, the lower the tolerance for such childish notions as "god" or any other magical sky pixie.

if u were really open minded as u claim, u would have tried to expose urself to other ideas and different approaches, that might have led u to actually read the Quran, and u would have found out that science asserts the authenticity of this holy ''scientific'' book!
if ur really open minded ull have no problem checking these presentations!

Most are like you, can't accept the truth that science nowadays is proving the existence of God, but to be precise they are proving that ALLAH exists YES ALLAH.
