Which deities do you take as travel companions?

Where they quote:
The righteous shall rejoice when he seeth the vengence:
He shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked. -Psalm 58:10
Do they forget Jesus himself taught:
Insomuch, as ye have done it unto the least of these my bretheren, ye have done it unto me. -Matthew 25:40.
And that Jesus also taught:
If I wash thee not (your feet) thou hast no part with me. -John 13:8.
Jesus tells us that we should let him wash our feet, and not to do such things as Psalms says.
I am sick of these crazys too... what do you think.

"Six days may work be done; but in the seventh is the sabbath of rest, holy to the Lord: whosoever doeth any work in the sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death." Exodus 31:15

The Bible is loaded with such decrees of God, and God never changes; okay church people, please explain this God you worship and believe in.
And do any of you do work on the Sabbath?

Ive seen people do it before, but I was wondering if there was any good information, (websites, books, etc.) that anybody knows about.

I'm new to this, so is there a Past Lives for Dummies kind of thing?

I've been praying for proof from a dream for ages. Still haven't gotten any proof. If God can't provide proof then the subject is false.

Answers like "it's all up to your faith" are not valid answers.

From my limited understanding of Islam and Judaism (from reading about the religions and talking to Muslims/Jews) I have learned that believers of both religions believe that a) Jesus was a great Prophet but b) he was only a prophet, not the son of God/Messiah. Jesus claimed to be the Son of God (the Messiah), so logically he was either truely the Son of God, or he was lying, or he was crazy. A prophet is chosen by God to speak for Him; God inspires his prophesies and gives him the power to perform miracles (both things Jesus did). My question is since Muslims/Jews believe Jesus was truely a prophet, he was obviously not crazy, so why would he lie about being the son of God/the Messiah? Why would God use a liar/give him the power to perform miracles, etc.? I am not poking fun at these religions, but it is a question I have been wondering about for a while. Could someone explain this to me (without being angry/hostile, please)? I really appreciate it. Thanks!

"And if a man sell his daughter to be a maidservant, she shall not go out as the menservants do. If she please not her master, who hath betrothed her to himself, then shall he let her be redeemed; to sell her unto a strange nation he shall have no power, seeing he hath dealt deceitfully with her."

Many places in the Bible, God allows slavery. Why?
Did God eventually decide slavery is bad? Or is it still okay with him? Answers from church people appreciated.

does he himself abide by a certain code of right and wrong?
did he decide on his own that certain things are right or wrong?
or is he right, as mothers like to say, 'because i said so'?
or is there another thing which makes him right?
(this question refers to the christian god which many people on here, including myself, do not believe in but anybody can answer and speak their minds)

i'm interested to see what people will say

Laws you may be keeping: 233

Laws you may not be keeping: 103

Laws that may not apply to you: 118
Laws you may be unable to keep: 159

Commandments that cannot be observed today primarily relate to the Temple.

So, should we keep the other 103 Laws? Most of them can be kept by eating & feasts!

Remember Paul's teaching on Law is very misinterpreted and abused. He was teaching to the Essenes. "Bondage from the Law" taught to people who would not save a person from drowning on the Sabbath.

Paul taught extensively from the Torah, the Prophets and the Writings, he is a righteous Jew who taught the Way of YHWH is merciful and compassionate, treating all people with great dignity.

Yeshua our example? He kept it all perfectly.

There are many today who attend Church on Sunday, put up Christmas trees, paint Easter Eggs and have been fully assimilated into Hellenism. G-d NEVER accepts paganism in the Bible, why would He will now??

A couple months ago I bought a pair of white Nike AF1s. I noticed later that the number 666 was written on the box. I'm guessing that was used by the store to keep track. Anyone know what the numbers are really used for? What are the chances of this happening? I don't believe in anything supernatural about this. I just want to hear your thoughts from a spiritual point of view. Would you worry?

Bill was told "Why don't you choose your own conception of God?" The second commandment is "You shall not make for yourself any graven image." I think this clearly is in conflict. Should we tell people to commit a sin in order to be closer to God?

"If a man smite his servant...notwithstanding, if he continue a day or two, he shall not be punished; for he is his money." (Exodus 21:20)

Then why is death the punishment for merely cursing a parent?
"And he that curseth his father or his mother, shall be surely put to death." (Exodus 21:17)

Cursing your parents is worse than striking and injuring your servant?

Okay, church people, this is the God you believe in. Since your God never changes, please explain to us these priorities of your God.

that are Millions of light years away? How did the valleys get gouged by glaciers 10,000 years ago leaving moraines, (not morons) erratics, and evidence of their passage? How can nonthinking be elevated to the level it is at in 'religious' nonsense?

I'm waiting for a good explanation for the Laurentide Ice shield, and far off galaxies, without 'changing the speed of light' over time.

Just because some people who follow a religion do so blindly doesn't make the religion false. The idea that the followers of the religion are stupid, therefore the religion is stupid is the "poisoning the well" fallacy: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poisoning_the_well

Don't get me wrong; I'm not saying that Christianity or any other religion is right, but there are a lot of people on here who think poorly of religion simply because of the followers. The same idea applies to the leaders of the religion until you go to a religion's original author (or authorS in the case for Christianity, which greatly enhances its credibility), in which case you can look at circumstantial evidence.

So, when responding, I guess the question is whether or not I am right in saying this.

Ever since we took prayer out of schools there's been:

1. Guns and violence
2. Drugs
3. Alcohol abuse

Whereas before the 60s we had good Christian values like:

5. No Spanish allowed in schools

more a more liberal society where more people 'have it together'. I ask becasue people say 'look at society now.. since religion is gone.' I think that repression is gone and people are expressing freedom and will find themselves. Isn't 'well, look at things now...' like a guilt trip to get us back?
