more a more liberal society where more people 'have it together'. I ask becasue people say 'look at society now.. since religion is gone.' I think that repression is gone and people are expressing freedom and will find themselves. Isn't 'well, look at things now...' like a guilt trip to get us back?

Repression as in 1984 repression?

Theres a new phenominon ala a brave new world, not repression but more a super-forward-ression(???).ie..if you are not in then youre out mentality,
presure to fulfill unrealistic benchmarks and waylay your own interests for the sake of appearing normal and together,..Being told whats normal and whats not by men in suits.

Take Soma,its good for you!

At least with repression everyone is in the same boat, maybe it even produces a better quality person. Its a different economy

how did you get the idea a repressed society has to have less crime a low crime rate is not the product of society in repression
it's the cause ...the issues of poverty and ghetto life need to be addressed if the areas fostering crime are to be corrected in order to prevent crime . the law of upper echelon business need to be honestly monitored if the executive crime of the rapacious
CEOs are to be stopped they haven't scratched the surface yet.
And one of the highest crime rates on record is your public servants the political system in congress and the senate look up the stats sometime they are published .

repression dont work ,see that many come from prison worse than they went in
liberalism also dosnt work as we have no measure of what is good and what is bad
what is a mortal sin and what is a spiritual sin,
guilt trips dont work and dicipline dont work so we trust people knowing their deeds will condemm them,in the end it is our choice ,you cant force me to your rules as i cant force me to yours
we can transgress some laws but not others ,trusting people allows people to change ,bashing them do be good just drives the problem deeper
we must want to do the right thing ,till we do making all the rules set in stone is simply oppression by another name.

I agree with you. I think the godless people should be allowed to kill themselves with their pursuits of freedom and save the rest of us the trouble.
