i believe we need to bring a lot of things back into our lives. including prayer, however, prayer takes many forms for many people, so perhaps instead of prayers aloud in school, we should have a moment's silence for each of us to pray to whoever we choose.
i have to say i don't care for the values you claim are Christian. they aren't!
i think you are just bored and looking to cause trouble and that doesn't make a good Christian.
so.....be gone with you!

In ireland we still say prayers in our primary schools(4 to 12 yo)
theres nothing like passing by a school in the morning and hearing a class of about 30 children saying their prayers, all poor mouthed and sincere.
Possibly the most beautiful sound ever to hit an ear.
Brainwashing,cruel church,,exclusiveness?
Americans always go on about how great it is to be in the U.S. but some things are irreplaceable.
I think this whole seperation of state and religion is apawling.
As for christian values you quoted its worth remembering that the things you mentioned are an american phenominon.
Christianity didnt cause Lynching, Women's oppression,
, No voting for blacks or women, No Spanish allowed in schools anywhere else.
womens oppresion is an exagerated myth.

There is only one thing I have to say here. What does prayer have to do with speaking spanish in schools, or letting blacks and women vote and all of these things? Do you think GOD has preferences in regards to race or color? Read the bible first. God does not condone being a racist or making others feel bad. Doesn't GOD teach us to love one another, and to help those in need? Here, you are being a hypocrite because it shows that you agree with lynching, opressing women, segregation, you agree that no blacks or women should vote, and no spanish speaking being allowed in school. Those are not even good christian values. I don't know what kind of prayer you are trying to bring back, but if I only pray GOD forgives you.

Why do people always state 'bring prayer back into schools'? I was in the public school system in the 60s and early 70s and there was never any mandatory prayer. What was allowed then, as it is now, is individual prayer by the students. Even my parents who were in public schools in 30s and 40s say there was never any school prayers. About the closest thing they had was reciting the pledge of allegiance every morning.

Actually, we were blessed with them all before the 60's. The first 5 just weren't as overt as they are now. Yes bring prayer and the 'good book' back into the schools and let's start a grassroots movement for the return of slavery while we're at it. It is, after all, sanctioned in the bible.

Ok...last time I checked, the Bible didn't condone lynching, segregation, or take the right to vote away from women or blacks...actually all those things came from something called our government. Some may have used religion as a justification, but blame the old, ignorant white men who were in control during those times, not the entire religion.
I think it's safe to say he's being sarcastic...I'm surprised by how many people are missing that.

Yes it should be brought back. This is the only place some kids learn about religion. Prayers won't teach them all they need to know, but will put questions in their minds that they can ask their parents about. Maybe then the parents will see that even though they don't practice religion, they should give their kids the opportunity to learn about it and make their own decisions.

Haha, reminds me of a time when a black guy tried to point out how things were so much better in schools 50 years ago... he kind of forgot about the whole racist thing.
The world has never been "good", and Christians would do well to realize this. I am Christian, myself, and I laugh inwardly whenever people speak of the times when things were so much better because of Christianity. That's what you call "turning a blind eye".

Yeah right. Prayer was taken out of schools becuase of people like you. All of your "reasons" for bringing back prayer have always been in schools.
