Religion & Spirituality - 11 February 2007

I've come across many people in life who claim they don't believe Wicca is an actual religion. They state that I'm worshipping Satan and am going to go to Hell when I die. If I don't believe in Hell, how can I possibly go there, and if I don't believe in something, how can I be worshipping it?
My main question is, if I am not of a certain faith, why do people try to use those beliefs to convert me (or others)

Okay, so we invaded their country to find and destroy WMDs which could, in a nightmare scenario, be funneled to terrorist groups.

No WMDs were found, yet the war continues - and our President has publicly admitted 2 things. One, Iraq had nothing to do with 9-11. Two, we're fighting the terrorists "there" so we won't have to fight them "here".

If you're an Iraqi citizen - who lives in a country that had nothing to do with 9-11, how are you feeling right about now?

Now... you guys know nothing about me. Only information from me is that I'm a 19 year old female atheist.

So... WHY do I supposedly need saving? (Christians being directed here.) And why? What will I get out of this (is it positive? How do you know? And don't say it's because of the Bible) and what have I done to need it in the first place?

I'm interested in the reason why people feel the need to blast other people's religion. I understand religion is a very controversial topic; but do you really need to insult people's beliefs.

No matter what religion anyone is, they are going to disagree with others of different faiths, practices and backgrounds. Instead of blasting one anothers beliefs, why don't we all just have tolerates.

Why do people feel the need to try to convince people they are wrong. Believe what you wish and move on.

How about working on being good, ethical and moral (in the non-relgious sense) people in the world.

For example, since 1999 in Nigeria, more than 10,000 christians have been murdered because of their faith in Jesus Christ. Also, nearly 1,000 houses and churches belonging to Christians have been burned for the same reason. Nigeria has a large Muslim population which does not celebrate diversity in religious matters.

I mean, Christians have Catholics, Orthodox, Protestants... etc., and each one says they are right and the others are lost. Same like Muslims who have Sunni, Shiites, Bahaai... etc., and they might even kill each others! Also Indians have Hindu, Sikh, and a lot... and they also kill each others.
Are there different sectors under the Jewish religion? Do they hate each others? I never heard of something like that anyway, I like how the Jews help each others, so I want to know if there is something I don't know about.

The living honeybee is no different than its fossil relative, which is millions of years old.

The 135 million year old dragon fly fossil is no different than its modern counterparts.

A comparison of ant fossil aged 100 million years and an ant living in our day clearly indicates that ants do not have any evolutionary history.
