"Six days may work be done; but in the seventh is the sabbath of rest, holy to the Lord: whosoever doeth any work in the sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death." Exodus 31:15

The Bible is loaded with such decrees of God, and God never changes; okay church people, please explain this God you worship and believe in.
And do any of you do work on the Sabbath?

God didn't decree it, the guy who wrote the book decreed it! I believe that God hired somebody to help him write an autobiography but he ran out of money, so the author decided to finish it with his own rules. It should be in the fiction section by now if you ask me.

well dear...when Jesus came...he put the people straight...he said that if your oxen fell into a ditch would you leave it til the sabbath was over or get it out, he said get it out, Jesus said this and his words came after the old testament.. and his death put a stop to the laws that had people in bondage...we can be forgiven for sins if we ask...but if a person were to worship God as they should, everyday would be a Holy day because they worshiped him all day , and it can be done and work too....times have progressed and Jesus opened the door for that progression....as long as we put him first in all that we do everyday instead of once a week, then we are are keeping it Holy every day..
and beside working is not the unpardonable sin......

first, remember that the old testament contained prophecies of the savior that would pay for all the sins. God chose to express how serious sin was, serious as death. Sin was brought into the world by man, not God. God said he would send his Son to die for the sins of the world but until then, they were to obey the law, sin required a blood animal sacrifice. if you understand that then you see into a great mystery of the heart of god's passion for purity and love as he paid the price.

Many who do not work on the Sabbath want to go somewhere, like a restaurant. They are condemning us restaurant workers to hell by making us break the sabbath.

Edit: I should point out I am not a believer and that was typed with sarcasm.

God must have spanked Adam and Eve. Once a parent starts using punishment instead of loving guidance, they have to keep escalating to even get the kids' attention. Hence, a god who smotes you, floods you, plagues you. Sheesh. Some free will.

Right.

Breaking Commandment # 4 = sin.

Wages of sin is Death. Only by repentance through Yeshua (and repentance means ending this sin) can we be forgiven.

Since Yeshua had not come yet, this was a true statement at the time.

Shalom
David

(Job 40:8) Wilt thou also disannul my judgment? wilt thou condemn me, that thou mayest be righteous?

(Job 40:9) Hast thou an arm like God? or canst thou thunder with a voice like him?
