I had pork tonight for dinner. I am a Chrisitan.

If you want to live by the Law of Moses, be sure to do it all! Some say that there are 613 of those commandments. Good luck with your offerings at the temple. And I hope you know a Levitical priest that is a descendant of Aaron's adopted sons.

As for me:
Galatians 3:23 Before this faith came, we were held prisoners by the law, locked up until faith should be revealed. 24 So the law was put in charge to lead us to Christ that we might be justified by faith. 25 Now that faith has come, we are no longer under the supervision of the law.

Christians can consume beef because of the fact first they have grossly misinterpreted a verse from Acts in the hot testomony which has surely no longer something to do with nutrition, and secondly they use the excuse that they are below grace. ultimately Christians do no longer easily study the Bible they only have confidence despite some preacher tells them extremely than doing their very own study including medical study proving beef is an extremely undesirable meat to consume.

I always wondered that aswelll. it does say in the Bible that pig is unclean and that Jesus banished the souls of legions (demons) from a man into the pigs. The Christians just choose to ignore it. In the Quran it clearly states that it is one of the things that God forbids us to eat. Someone here, put lots of Muslims eat Pork? That is false. Unless they aren't actually Muslim.

Is it just me, or does anyone else here think it's a little odd to take old rituals so seriously? Practicing Catholics can't eat meat during Lent.

Christians are not constrained by the Mosaic law (and the 613 additional laws added by the Sanhedrin) because Christ died so that we would not have to keep those laws - He died so that we didn't have to. Also check out Acts 10:9-16 or maybe just the whole chapter it's all good. I hope that will answer your question.

Jesus declared all foods clean under the New Testament (Mark 7).

So did Peter, and so did Paul.

--------------------------------------
When He had entered a house away from the crowd, [Jesus'] disciples asked Him concerning the parable. So He said to them, “Are you thus without understanding also? Do you not perceive that whatever enters a man from outside cannot defile him, because it does not enter his heart but his stomach, and is eliminated, thus purifying all foods?” And He said, “What comes out of a man, that defiles a man. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lewdness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness. All these evil things come from within and defile a man.”

~Mark 7:17-23 (NIV)

---------------------------------
About noon the following day as they were on their journey and approaching the city, Peter went up on the roof to pray. He became hungry and wanted something to eat, and while the meal was being prepared, he fell into a trance. He saw heaven opened and something like a large sheet being let down to earth by its four corners. It contained all kinds of four-footed animals, as well as reptiles of the earth and birds of the air. Then a voice told him, "Get up, Peter. Kill and eat."

"Surely not, Lord!" Peter replied. "I have never eaten anything impure or unclean."

The voice spoke to him a second time, "Do not call anything impure that God has made clean."

This happened three times, and immediately the sheet was taken back to heaven.

~Acts 10:9-16 (NIV)

----------------------------

I know and am convinced by the Lord Jesus that there is nothing unclean of itself; but to him who considers anything to be unclean, to him it is unclean. Yet if your brother is grieved because of your food, you are no longer walking in love. Do not destroy with your food the one for whom Christ died. Therefore do not let your good be spoken of as evil; for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. For he who serves Christ in these things is acceptable to God and approved by men.

~Romans 14:14-18 (NIV)

They sure do eat it! But some of the OT doesn't even apply to the Christians! IMO the OT is just there to back up their claims about Jesus being the messiah!

EDIT: it's true what TS (above me) said!

No, I don't think they eat christians either. :)

Actually there were a lot of animals that were considered unclean in the pld testiment that christians eat. But that is because Christ taught that it was notthe food that defiled man. (read in Mark)

Whatever it is, scientifically proven pork is unclean. Bacteria that it carry will never die in any circumstance or in any high temperature. So of choices even, beware what you eat.

The New Testament changed all the forbidden "unclean" foods alluded to in Deuteronomy.
Man is permitted to eat of all that God has provided.
