I have been mislead by the prosperity gospel which basically says that God loves you and will give you everything you want and protect you from all harm and God wants you to be rich and to be a good christian you must prosper.And if you tithe God will give you more money.

When all hell broke loose in my life the prosperity gospel that my old church worshipped did not help me with my devistation and hurt.

Have you been mislead by the prosperity gospel? If so how did you get through this time?

To be succesful in thins world and the one everybody would after this. which is never gonna finish. This life is only few days compare to the one after the day of judgement. so plz think about it.

Children in church

A little boy was in a relative's wedding.
As he was coming down the aisle, he would take two steps, stop,
and turn to the crowd.
While facing the crowd, he would put his hands up like claws and
roar. So it went, step, step, ROAR, step, step, ROAR, all the way down the aisle. As you can imagine, the crowd was near tears from laughing so hard by the time he reached the pulpit. When asked what he was doing, the child sniffed and said, "I was being the Ring Bear."

One Sunday in a Midwest City, a young child was "acting up" during the morning worship hour. The parents did their best to maintain some sense of order in the pew but were losing the battle. Finally, the father picked the little fellow up and walked sternly up the aisle on his way out. Just before reaching the safety of the foyer, the little one called loudly to the congregation, "Pray for me! Pray for me!"

Disclaimer - To all those who know I am going to hell I know also thank you for your concern.

I dont have any children but I hope i will one day and it is something I have been thinking about recently. A lot of people wont take on initiates until they have turned 21 - I understand why but i also think it is a long time to wait to experience any spirituality. I grew up in the church and some of the experiences I had helped me to grow both spiritually and as a person.

Have you introduced your children to any faith - if so in what way, I dont mean to intrude and obvioulsy you dont have to answer, I just wonder.

How many things do Christians do or say just to get into heaven? Every time a Christian here calls the athiests names (satin, evil, damned) I wonder if they are trying to show god what good christians they. Or when they quote scripture? Are they trying to kiss up? Or when they say they are praying for sinners, do they do that out of the kindness of their hearts? When they judge others by saying hurtful things and then say that they are only quoting god, I wonder if they really believe that. Honest answers here - I promise I will not judge you.

The details? Don't you think that an all-knowing god would have planned for people to be forced to retranslate the bible years after the tower of babel was destroyed and humans (with their free will) would invent new words and languages? I would think that he would at some point forsee the "telephone game" effect in his teachings as time progressed. Do you think its possible that the bible is written metaphorically so as to remain timeless? Perhaps the stories in the bible are written not only so that people during that time could understand it, but to leave it open for updating as time progressed? In other words, don't you think that if god gave us this great book full of ideas and simple rules that would help us all get along and eventually find him in the end, that he would write it in a way that left it open for us to fine tune a little, or do you feel that the bible is word for word literal?

1. Atheists can pick and choose when they want to begin with the assumption that God is real/unreal:

-"God murders babies."
-"God doesn't exist, therefore prayer doesn't work."

2. Atheists can use natural logic and reasoning to explain supernatural events?

Athesim is the logical choice.

Thing is... God defies our human logic.
