the beauty of everything, the pantheist God, I'm peaceful and try to be loving and I appreciate Jesus as a good, spiritual man and role model - how'd I fare for heaven?

Was it a bunch of guys sitting in a dark cave hearing voices in their heads and writing it all down? That must sound a little ridiculous to anyone. Can you imagine what would happen in you actually saw that? You would think those guys were completely nuts. Im not trying to be a god hating atheist. Just a realistic question?

I was an athiest for many years until I started persuing Buddhism and I never judge religion as a whole. It helps bring happiness in many peoples lives. Sure, people have done wrong in the name of God, but people have still done wrong in the name of atheism. Look at what China has done to "wipe out religion." I would hardly call it kind in nature. So, what makes todays atheist believe in their own moral authority and moral high ground?

I've seen it stated here quite often that the reason Atheists (and any other nonChristians, actually) refuse to 'accept Jesus' is because they want to be able to sin and they don't want to be held accountable for their actions.

I'm finding it hard to follow that logic. Christians here have also stated repeatedly that with Jesus all sins are forgivable. In the end, actions don't matter, good works won't get you saved. In fact, as long as you repent, all sin is forgiven and you can spend eternity in Heaven. If that's true, then why would the Christians have ANY reason not to sin? Why would they feel that THEY are in any way held accountable for their actions? If Jesus will forgive all who repent, why wouldn't they just live a life of sin, repent at the last moment, and still go to Heaven?

It's as though the only reason not to believe in their God is to be able to live a sinful life. Yet they are the ones with (supposed) Carte Blance. Does that make any sense?

Why would someone who is unsaved and not a Christian, think they are being "open minded", when they clearly outnumber the number of saved Christians? To be open minded is to go against what the majority insists. We know that the majority does NOT believe that Jesus is the only way to heaven. Is the majority always right?

Indeed it is those like me who know that Jesus is the only way to heaven, that are open minded enough to understand that this present world is based upon a lie from Satan.

Damning yourself to eternal hell isn't open mindedness. It is sheer stupidity.

Alright, so I've been thinking about the subject a lot lately, (what happens after, the existance or non existance of an afterlife) And to be honest, I'm REALLY getting tired of thinking about it. No, I'm not suicidal or anything, but I never stop wondering what happens after people die. Is there a reason why I may be thinking about this, and a way I can stop? No, no one close to me has died, and I'm not even eighteen. A few months ago, the thought popped into my head, and I've been fixated on it since.
