"Caring for the person" would indicate that you also value what they have to say and how they feel. That would indicate that you share what you believe to be true in scripture, but allow the person to counter or disagree, sometimes immediately, sometimes later.....and loving them in the Lord either way for who they are (and living it.)
Bible bashing indicates "beating someone over the head with scripture", a relentless, one sided, closed minded spouting
of scripture without allowing for response or believing in the possiblility that you just MIGHT be wrong.
Example for me would be those who have "Bible-bashed" me with scripture over and over again about the "abomination" of homosexuality, without understanding the context or the scripture, not willing to listen to another point of view, or quoting and believing what they say without admitting to committing equal abominations (according to the same book) when being presented with other scriptures (like wearing a blended fabric dress-shirt, eating shellfish, or steak cooked to "medium" at a restaurant.)
Bible bashing, to me, means not truthfully and rightfully dividing the Word of God, just "dividing it up besides someone's head" and then turning away.
PS: Speaking of dividing the Word of God, there is a reference above by one of the commentors to www.lsm.org (and nothing else.) This website takes you to info about "The Recovery Version" of the Bible.
There are some things you should research for yourself about the "The Recovery Church" , "The Recovery Denomination", and "The Local Church". This link is a good reference: http://www.bcbsr.com/topics/lc.html . I've drawn my own conclusions, but read it, and judge for yourself.

well that depends on what your position on the bible:
if you are a fundamentalist it's heresy
if you are a reasonably-minded christian its mocking your faith
if you are an atheist or agnostic, it's called pointing out faulty logic and things that just plain make no sense
and yes, if you care what someone believes even though it is bad (tho there is a lot of good, there are some REALLY bad lessons in the bible) it can be said to be caring for the person.

Bible-bashing means only one thing: attacking the Bible. This activity typically reflects the bigotry, closed-mindedness and ignorance of the person doing the bashing, since he knows he is in violation of what the Bible says, and is looking for ways to justify himself.

Bible-bashing....um I don't know what that is....I don't remember hearing that term before.....I think of either bashing a Bible against the wall or something or like telling someone what they are doing wrong according to the Bible then well....the Bible says that if you love your brothers and sisters in Christ, you will rebuke them when they are going wrong on something, not in a mean way of course, but you only do it to remind them of what is right and try to keep them on the right path, you do it because you love them and because you really are concerned about them and their relationship with God. BUT if you mean like telling people "your going to hell" "Your a ____" then that is bad....I think people can take rebuke wrong very easily, it is hard to admit you were wrong about something!! I know. Anyway I THINK this is what it means I could be wrong lol. interesting question though anyway.....listen you have an awesome day!!!!

Fear and uncertainty of religion, namely Christianity.
Of all the arguments I've heard from athiests, they can never answer one question: "If you are so secure in youre belief in nothing, why do you feel the need to be so defensive and vehemently oppose religion?" Belief in nothing (aka, atheism) is essentially a religion unto itself. Call it the "Void". Atheists are just as vehement about their belief in nothing as someone from the Bible belt is about Christianity. After all, if you truly believe in something, you don't need to be offensive or defensive, nor do you need to force others to your beliefs. By exhibiting both offensive and defensive behaviors, people show their uncertainty and fear.....NOT their faith. If you have faith in your beliefs, whatever they may be, you don't need to feel the need to defend yourself. Witnessing, on the other hand, is a completely separate topic.

I bash bibles for cheap TP. You can run them over with a car, or let the dogs rip them apart.

It's where you show ppl the flaws of the bible.
Revelation, chapter 6
13: and the stars of the sky fell to the earth as the fig tree sheds its winter fruit when shaken by a gale;
Revelation, chapter 7
1: After this I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding back the four winds of the earth, that no wind might blow on earth or sea or against any tree.
Someone doesn't like it, I got a thumbs down : (
lol : )
Hey, it's your bible.

I think that what it is is trying to use information and facts from the Bible to force people what to believe.

Bible bashing is what fundamentalists do to the Bible to make it conform to their twisted beliefs.
