1. Atheists can pick and choose when they want to begin with the assumption that God is real/unreal:

-"God murders babies."
-"God doesn't exist, therefore prayer doesn't work."

2. Atheists can use natural logic and reasoning to explain supernatural events?

Athesim is the logical choice.

Thing is... God defies our human logic.

Praise Jesus.

lol Jett.

bc_munkee... I do realize that. I think it's called "materialism".

red mage...

that's the whole point of faith. If you think I'm trying to prove God exists, you've got it wrong.

That's impossible.

Faith lets us cross the bridge, and Jesus is that bridge.

October,

I may not understand eternal love, but I know God loves me.

I may not understand eternal life, but I know I have it.

I may not understand why Jesus died for me, but I know he did.

Ok Doug, You've posted 500 nonsensical posts in a row now, you've converted me. It's a miracle.

1. Atheists don't pick and choose their assumption that God is real or unreal. An atheist by definition does not believe that God exists. When they talk about God murdering babies they are making an allegation that a particular God as described by his believers isn't so "good" after all and they believe this renders belief in His existence ludicrous.

2. Atheists do not use natural logic and reasoning to explain supernatural events. Atheists do not believe in supernatural events. They use natural logic and reasoning to explain natural events, and they ignore supernatural events BECAUSE they cannot be explained logically or through reason.

You are correct that God, if He exists, defies human logic. An omnipotent God, as I presume yours is, can do anything. Therefore, he does not have to follow natural laws or behave rationally or in any understandable or comprehendable way. In fact, if God is omnipotent, then can't he both exist (in an infinite number of forms) and not exist at the same time? (careful... if your answer is no, then your God is not omnipotent....)

Since logic begins with 1+1 = 2 and God defies human logic, can we assume that God is at odds with the notion that 1+1 = 2?

We ask questions about a character in a book. This character's name is God and the book is the Holy Bible. If I were to ask someone "Did you notice in Red Dragon that Hannibal smokes Djarum cigarettes?" I would not be insinuating that I think Red Dragon is a factual story.

If an idiot then starts talking to me like Hannibal is his friend who he communicates with telepathically, I will tell him that the movie is fiction and that he is insane.

Nowhere have I changed my opinion on Hannibal's existence.

This is actually very simple. They use the real/unreal method as a way of asking how this could logically occur.
Ex: If no one ate my candy then it would still be here.
Atheists do not believe in the supernatural, only the physical.

Got it? Good!

"Thing is... God defies our human logic."
Precisely.

So why assert that he exists, skippy? If all you have is human logic, and logic dictates that either
a) God is outside of said logic
or
b) God cannot explained by logic,
Isn't it a logical conclusion to not believe in your god at all?

Thanks for proving our point.

Praise FSM.
