...were they ever REAL Christians?

If they were really Christian, does that mean that they are already forgiven for their sin of atheism, and will go to heaven?

If they never were really Christian, why not? If they asked Christ into their hearts in sincerity, why did he not come?

(FYI, I am an atheist, *not* seeking to convert.)

What brought you to worship this particular religion?
What is being Buddhist about?
What information would you give someone considering converting to Buddhism?

If you're wrong (which your are) Your whole life is a big joke because you lived a trick, not life

Imagine praying to something "fake" your whole life. You would have to feel soooooooo stupid

If your husband cheated on you for 50 years when you thought he wasn't, you call that "nothing to lose"?

YOUR WHOLE ENTIRE LIFE IS A LIE

If we Atheists are wrong, a good god would understand and send us to heaven for being good people

Why don't we call it what it is.. its not the "religion of peace" like they claim it is.. after all, if you don't subscribe to their religion, then they blow you to pieces.. shouldn't we call it the "religion of pieces" then?

so many times on here i have seen person after person dissing various religions and calling them foolish, and saying the believers are silly or ridiculous. especially where wicca/paganism is concerned, sometimes even buddhists. that aside though, if you really sit back and look at your own beliefs, you'd probably realize that no religion is any more or less 'out there' than others.

The basis of the idea is that it is the only gospel that rarely mentions Jesus by name (and these could have been added by later writers) and accordingly may have been written prior to the NT. Secondly that it is so replete with Jewish apocalyptic imagery that it is more in line with the Book of Enoch than anything in the NT.

And no, John the Evangelist did not write Revelations. The writing styles and language are completely dissimilar.

Any thoughts?

This is for both believers and non-believers. Even if you are an athiest, the Bible is chock full of great wisdom(Proverbs, for example.) Why don't more people try to tap into this wisdom, see the truth, and live better lives because of it? Explain

I know why we Christian try to convince people about Jesus, it's our duty to try to save souls. But, why do athiests try to convince people to come their way. What's in it for you?

it's obvious that The catholic clergy system was started by a money hungry nutjob, it was fun during the Dark ages and oppression, but now it's causing damage and costing money.

If everything tends to disorder, how can the Big Bang cause an ordered Universe and more specifically and ordered Earth to form. Would it not be more likely that with a Big Bang, the universe would go into compete and udder chaos? Also, how can a large amount of chemicals be believed to have just happened to come together in exactly the right chemistry to form life? This seems to completely go against the idea of entropy.

If a person is not proven guilty until there is enough evidence to prove he committed a crime... Then couldn't Christians use the argument that God exists until there is enough evidence to prove he does not?

I guess those who do not believe in a higher power could say it would work the other way as well "God does not exist until proven that he does".... but with the acceptance that "faith" is a true and valid human response/emotion... Then you would have to disprove faith first to use the argument in favor of him NOT existing.

Side note - Do those who do not believe in God have faith in things other than God? That is - In things that you cannot see?

Just thinking out loud. Please do not be rude or attack me personally. I value your opinion whatever view you hold.

Thanks!
