After arrests and intimidation of the clergy, a synod held in Lviv in March 1946—in fact, on Stalin's orders—proclaimed the “reunification” of the Ukrainian Greek Catholics with the Russian Orthodox church.

Just because he was baptized by his parents doesn't make him any kind of real Catholic. Marx himself said that religion is the opiate of the people. Modern Secular Communism by its very nature is atheistic. Why don't YOU try researching? That way you won't sound so foolish.

Now that's a new one on me. A Catholic! Where did you get this from? I understand that he was for a time a seminarian for one of the Orthodox Churches before being booted out.
------------------------------
Hitler had been a Catholic, later lasped from the Faith, finally opposed the Faith. His actions against Catholic priests in concentration and extermination camps make this clear. A satanist? I don't know of any crtain evidence for that allegation. I do know hw approved attempts to revive Germanic paganism as a substitute religion for Christianity in any form.

Before any one says it first: Yes, Mussolini was definitely a Catholic and a seminarian before he got kicked out for stabbing another student. He was at great pains to be seen as a loyal son of the Church so long as it was politically helpful e.g. the political capital gained for the Fifth Lateran Treaty. In reality he worshipped only himself and lived a private life totally at odds with the Commandements. His mistress would be a good witness to this except the Italians strung her up and renedered her unable to testify.

Sorry. I'm not sure what point you are making here.

When Stalin effected this union it was at the expense of the Catholics who were forced into the structures of the Russian Orthodox Church (battles over property pending this very day). To me it seems Stalin's diabolical plot was twofold: to separate Catholics from the jurisdiction of an extre-territorial power i.e. Rome, and to cause maximum fighting among Christians themselves. I believe that Stalin also thought that the ROC would be easier to control and infiltrate than the Catholic Church with its global scope.

Well I knew Hitler was Catholic but when you think about it it hardly matters.

A religious leader can go to war to preach his beliefs - but how could you possibly imagine an atheist leader would do the same when by definition he does not believe in God???

Its just one of the many examples of religious people being unable or unwilling to understand that atheism is not a religion.

So what, Osama is a muslim. Obviously religious teaching don't play that much of an important part in a mad man's thinking. Well, except for Osama.

Stalin's religion was communism. I suppose there's a reason you don't cite some historical source. Maybe there isn't one?
