so many times on here i have seen person after person dissing various religions and calling them foolish, and saying the believers are silly or ridiculous. especially where wicca/paganism is concerned, sometimes even buddhists. that aside though, if you really sit back and look at your own beliefs, you'd probably realize that no religion is any more or less 'out there' than others.

Thank you for standing up like this and making such a valid statement.
A lot of people think they know better, or they know "the truth", which essentially brainwashes them to think that all other religions are invalid and have no substance. And a lot of the time, people are just hateful and rude.
I have to deal with this kind of attitude day after day, and sometimes it just ends up being too much and I end up telling off the other person. Of course later on I regret it because as a Pagan, I am supposed to be understanding and compassionate. But, I am only human, and so is everyone else.

They do it to try and make those people feel bad and make them convert, it's a total power game. All religions are silly and foolish, none more than the other, well I do like the way you put scientology... those guys are just nuts. But if religions really wanted to succeed all they would have to do is band together... but that will NEVER happen.

People fear what they don't understand, and people often hate what they fear.
Most people are so indulged into their own beliefs and thoughts that they just don't understand how people can choose to worship anything else. To use your example of Paganism, most people automatically think "Satan Worshippers." Personally, as a Muslim, I look at all sides of a question before answering. And I have never tried to convert anyone, nor purposefully insult another's religion. Mocking Buddhists, however is very wrong. These people quite literally do nothing to deserve any disrespect by anyone world-wide.

People make fun of and fear what they don't understand. I am no one to talk. I can't stand judgemental narrow view religions like Christianity. Christianity is a terrible religion because of it's views that their way is the only way and their demeaning attitude towards other religions and homosexuals. They are bigots. I don't think they don't have a right to practice their religion, but it's the actions based on that belief that I have a problem with. Banning gay marriage, boycotting the military because of Wiccans, etc.

Faith is foolish. Why? Would it be foolish for a dog to ignore there ears, or there nose? Of course. Your mind and it's ability to reason and interpret all the data that is coming in from your senses supports your life. To have "faith" is to ignore that data and operate blindly. This is foolish and does not serve your life, it only serves the collective organization that has a problem with you using your mind to support your life. It threatens to put them out of business. They need you to use faith for their survival, and they come to this conclusion, using reason, the same thing they try to prevent you from using. Make some real friends next time. Real friends, have your best interest in mind too.
