Leading people to a loving God, and not wanting others to die without Christ is what motivates a right minded Christian . Now there may be Christians ,who unfortunately dont get that point . However, What is to be gained by an Atheist leading somebody away from a God , that they dont even believe in ? Even the devil believes in God.

I understand, unless i'm mistaken, that competition should be between two or more individuals who are almost or equally at the same level.

eg a heavy weight boxer, in order to measure himself and not lower his dignity, would compete with another heavy weight champion; or an adult would want to compete with an adult, not a child for competing with the latter will not only bring shame, dishonnour and embarrasment for the adult, but also bring him down to the level of the child.

So question is: Why would a "uncomparable Supreme and Almighty God" of the OT more than often compete with the so-called false foreign and powerless gods in general, or satan (his own creation) in particular in order to prove his might and strength? Isn't that like doing arm wrestle with a child trying to prove the world that you can conquer him?

No offense to anyone, i would appreciate a reasonable answer.

This may be a bit controversial, but please try to have an open mind here. I have a theory for explaining the dramatic difference between the nature of the God of the Old Testament and Jesus Christ.
The God of the Old Testament was merciful, but when He got mad He GOT MAD. Many people died by God's wrath and that seemed to be the only way He knew of to reign His wayward people in. The enemies of God were utterly destroyed-- men, women and children.
Then shift to the Gospels in the New Testament. We have Jesus, the Son of God, preaching compassion and forgiveness above all else, even to the point of overturning large portions of the harsh Moseic Law. His followers, after his death, went and ministered to the Gentiles (non-Jews, as opposed to conquering and destroying them.
And Jesus was human. He was God, but still human. He was subjected to everything we are (hunger, temptation, grief).
When Jesus walked, God learned what it meant to be human. Any thoughts here?

I am not a fan of Big Brother, I am not a fan of Gade Goody. I never saw the whole argument, only the edited highlights. I agree some nasty things were said by house mates. But I really cannot see why the comments made by individuals over an argument over a stock cube, made the world news. I dont understand if things were that bad, why Shilpa stayed. She is an intelligent woman and if she (the victim) can deal with it in a measured why, why can't the media etc ? SOmeone please help me understand !

I'm a little tired of the "Why does a God of love allow suffering?" bit. We're all sinners who desrve to burn in hell. Why do athiests only look at the suffering and not the pleasure that God "allows". I'd say the pleasure far outweighs the suffering.

If Moses Came Down From Mount Sinai with 10 small paragraphs scribbled on stone, then how come centuries later we have a 3,000+ page bible of books claiming to know what God said. Also, what relevance does the dead man Jesus really have to our lives today? And how can you know which bits were meant to be taken literally, and which not? Do Christians think they are more important than other people?

And crucially, with the continual accumulation of people who have once lived, is there now terrible overcrowding in heaven & hell? & Why have our astronauts and geologists found no trace that either exist, after having explored the Earth's core and the skies & space.
