Let's say, hypothetically, there's a family of four, a husband ,wife, and two children. The husband and wife both work, however only one of them is tithing faithfully. Do you think that the family will still be blessed in any way financially? They both are Christians.

I do know that tithing is symbolic of faith and love, I'm talking about the financial blessing God gives to a cheerful, faithful giver.

money is not the only way to tithe.
giving time of yourself to help others in the name of the Lord is another way to tithe.
so maybe one writes the check or gives cash while the other does helpful acts.

I'm not sure how God will handle this, but it is more about obedience. God doesn't need our money. I doubt they will be fully blessed because they are not putting their FULL faith in him. It's all about faith. I'm not saying they will be incrementally blessed based on what they give, but MAYBE there is so much more for them through their obedience.

If he is truly a Christian, I don't know how conviction doesn't set in on him and make him miserable.

There are many passages about tithing: Genesis 14:18-20
Hebrew 7:1-2, Genesis 28:22
Deut 14:22-23
Like 11:42
Malachi 3:6-10

You are not supposed to pay a tithe at at all. That is an Old Testament rule which has been cancelled by the cross. It is actually a sin to tithe because you are ignoring Christ and are focusing on "the old laws". If you want to give, go ahead and give, but don't tithe. I'd suggest the husband stop tithing and start unforced and unrewarded giving.

Malachi 3 verse 8 testifies of it's importance. As to your specific question the family will be blessed because of the one tithing. Abraham's discussion with God in Genesis 18 shows that.

I don't understand how in a family, only one spouse can tithe without the other. My mother writes a check every Sunday and it's from both of their monies. even if the spouses have separate accounts, their monies end up intermingling in the end.

I don't think the tithing is as important as their attitude to God. tithing is for love not financial gain.

The Almighty YHVH blesses each us far beyond what we deserve. ( Leviticus tells us there are three classes authorized to recieve tithes) As we obey more, (come more into harmony with His choices) we enable Him to bless us more.
