I understand, unless i'm mistaken, that competition should be between two or more individuals who are almost or equally at the same level.

eg a heavy weight boxer, in order to measure himself and not lower his dignity, would compete with another heavy weight champion; or an adult would want to compete with an adult, not a child for competing with the latter will not only bring shame, dishonnour and embarrasment for the adult, but also bring him down to the level of the child.

So question is: Why would a "uncomparable Supreme and Almighty God" of the OT more than often compete with the so-called false foreign and powerless gods in general, or satan (his own creation) in particular in order to prove his might and strength? Isn't that like doing arm wrestle with a child trying to prove the world that you can conquer him?

No offense to anyone, i would appreciate a reasonable answer.

In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do.

The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of Gods plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice.

Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod.

Oddly, proof for The Christian satan/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology.

Other hints about Satan’s role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It’s meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the Satan idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology.

Your right........there's no competition here.......it's more like teaching a lesson.

Imagine that a teacher is telling his students how to solve a difficult problem. A clever but rebellious student claims that the teacher’s way of solving the problem is wrong. Implying that the teacher is not capable, this rebel insists that he knows a much better way to solve the problem. Some students think that he is right, and they also become rebellious. What should the teacher do? If he throws the rebels out of the class, what will be the effect on the other students? Will they not believe that their fellow student and those who joined him are right? All the other students in the class might lose respect for the teacher, thinking that he is afraid of being proved wrong. But suppose that the teacher allows the rebel to show the class how he would solve the problem.
Jehovah has done something similar to what the teacher does. Remember that the rebels in Eden were not the only ones involved. Millions of angels were watching. (Job 38:7; Daniel 7:10) How Jehovah handled the rebellion would greatly affect all those angels and eventually all intelligent creation. So, what has Jehovah done? He has allowed Satan to show how he would rule mankind. God has also allowed humans to govern themselves under Satan’s guidance.
The teacher in our illustration knows that the rebel and the students on his side are wrong. But he also knows that allowing them the opportunity to try to prove their point will benefit the whole class. When the rebels fail, all honest students will see that the teacher is the only one qualified to lead the class. They will understand why the teacher thereafter removes any rebels from the class. Similarly, Jehovah knows that all honesthearted humans and angels will benefit from seeing that Satan and his fellow rebels have failed and that humans cannot govern themselves. Like Jeremiah of old, they will learn this vital truth: “I well know, O Jehovah, that to earthling man his way does not belong. It does not belong to man who is walking even to direct his step.”—Jeremiah 10:23.

Where did you get such an idea? God has a "government". The gospel is about the KINGDOM of God! Satan had an office there - it has been removed! He was "placed" in charge of this earth. 2 Cor 4 verse 4. When Satan tempted Jesus in Matthew 4 verses 8 and 9 they were his to give Jesus. Periodically Satan has to report to God (Job 1 verse 6). Satan rebellion is recorded in Isaiah 12 verses 12 to 15 and Ezekiel 28 verses 12 to 15. THERE IS NO CONTEST ! The scriptures surrounding those quoted above are referring to the man that will be possessed by Satan.

Satan sponsered the theory of Democracy too. And it was in mens minds to carry out thier one thought. Democracy is pretty well global, and Bush is trying to bring Democracy, the first horseman, to Iraq, with military weapons. They say peace, when there is no peace. They seduce the nations for the vote, but it is an entirerly corrupt system, as we all know. More like a dictatorship, cloaked in a velvet glove. Democracy is the devils tool for government, along with religion. The devil has all the bases covered. Try speaking against democracy, and see what happens.

Good question mate.

I always find that its the other way round though. Its more like everyone else is trying to compete with God. Satan and all mankind alike.
Im a christian, and i know even sometimes i think i know better and often challenge God. I think that God is like a Father who has to put his kids straight when they start pushing the boundaries against Him and thinking theyre the boss. God has nothing to prove to us but I think we can be all selfrighteous and think we know better, but really we need some educating from our Father.
God does lower himself to our level though but to help us understand and know Him and His Love for us, not because He needs to prove anything.

So, you don't think Women should be allowed to compete in Tennis against men or participate with Men in Professional Baseball.

You just JUSTIFIED sexism in sports.

You just JUSTIFIED why we should put ALL our resources into MALE COLLEGE FOOTBALL and not into WOMEN'S SPORTS, because they are obviously a child with child size features and can't compete toe to toe with some linebacker that's 6'7" and weights 350 pounds and is Male.

So why waste money on women's sports since they aren't on the TOP of the Olympics heap!

They aren't the BEST OF THE BEST.

They are second place.

The purpose is not to prove His might and strength.
The purpose is to clear His name ....His reputation, which Satan has besmirched.
Satan accused God of being a liar. Genesis 3:4.
That is why the 'Lord's Prayer' has, as its opening comment:
"Hallowed be thy name."

What is really wierd is how often, in the Bible, God freaks out over people worshipping other gods, like Baal and how this jealousy is so great that it had to be one of the Commandments.
