yet they use Examples like the Crusade and Hitler to disprove organized religion.

Logic - In the Bible it says in order to be a Christian one must be more Christlike. Read Jesus sermon on the mount. Blessed are the Meek, Blessed are the Peacemakers... etc etc. There is only one time in the Bible that Jesus was angry and that was when he found markets set up in a temple. He talked and ate with known criminals and sinners. IT TAKES MORE THAN ONE SAYING THAT HE IS CHRISTIAN TO REALLY BE CHRISTIAN. You can not be a christian and be responisble for the killing of innocents. Jesus knew there were wrong ways to live your life and would tell you what was wrong about it. Why in many arenas and at the time he was called "teacher". But he wouldnt NOT belittle or marginalize the sinner.

...just some Logical thoughts and setting the record straight .. thanks

Do you actually know what "Theory" means?

1. An assumption based on limited knowledge or information.

2. A set of principles devised to explain a GROUP OF FACTS or phenomenon, especially one that has been repeatedly tested.

#2 is the defintion of "SCIENTIFIC THEORY"

Now that we have established that scientific theory must include: a group of facts and repeated tests.

What do you think about a Creation theory?
Creation has NO FACTS and can't be tested.
This is the very meaning of definition 1...An assumption based on limited knowledge or info (a bronze age book with thousands of different interpretations.)

Why do you think that the overwhelming majority of mainstream scientists AGREE on evolution but the majority of creationists can't agree?

Christians aren't the only creationists....native indians and many other cultures have completely different versions of a "creation" story.

(Please, no hate mail. Let's focus on facts and reality)

I've never seen Brokeback Mountain before, and have been watching it for the last hour or so.

How can this kind of love be wrong? Its simply heartbreaking watching what they're going through unable to express how they feel due to fear about the way they'll be treated if they don't.

How can the bad treatement of people ever be justified when all they do is love each other?

The planet earth hangs 93 million miles from the blistering surface of the sun. It's a rotating sphere perfectly suspended in the centre of the universe. The ultimate creation from an infinite mind. An unbelievably intricate complex design. A supernatural testimony, an irrefutable sign that there is a God.

The size, position and angle of the earth is a scientific phenomenon to see. A few degrees closer to the sun we'd disintegrate and a few degrees further, we'd freeze. The axis of the earth is titled at a perfect 23 degree angle and it's no mistake that it is. This allows equal global distribution to the rays of the sun making it possible for the food chain to exist.

Or take for example the combination of nitrogen and oxygen in the atmosphere we breathe. It just happens to be the exact mix that life needs to prosper, this doesn't happen on any other planet.

You see, the Bible says the invisible things of God are seen through His creation, to believe this is not hard. If there's a design, there's a designer, if there's a plan, there's a planner and if there's a miracle, there is a God.

The Scripture says the heavens declare the glory of God and the skies proclaim the work of His hands. If we allow our minds to drink in all the truth that just surrounds us, creation itself with help us understand.

Did you know the moon controls the tides. Even the waves don't crash the shores in vain. The tides drag impurities from the depths of the sea, it's nature's constant recycling chain.

It simply boggles the mind to think that the stars will rotate with such exact precision that it's true. That the atomic clock with an error factor of less than three seconds per millennium is set by the way we move.

Though they silently orbit, the sun, the moon, the stars are like celestial evangelists above. Who circle the earth every 24 hours shouting in every language that there is a God.

Atheism is the wedge under the foundation of our faith, trying to topple our relationship with Christ. When the fool said in his heart, there is no God, he rejects the truth God painted on the canvas of the night. Atheism has never created an artistic masterpiece, never healed a fatal disease or calmed a fear. Atheism has never still given answers to our existence, peace to a troubled mind or even dried a tear.

For it's God who created heaven and earth and flung the stars in space and breathed in the handful of dirt and it became a man. It's God who sits on the circle of the earth and measures the mountains in a scale, and holds the seven seas in the palm of His hand. It's God who sent His only begotten Son to the cross of Calvary to save our souls from Hell and the grave. It's God who creates, God who delivers, God who heals and God who is worthy of a thunderous ovation of praise

Don’t the ends justify the means? Whether it means hurting someone, or turning them to ashes? Shouldn’t you get what you won’t? Aren’t you the only thing that matters, and others are tools to be used, any which way? Don’t you deserve what you want? Shouldn’t you use every trick or tactic you know to get it?

The "God" and the "Jesus" that Christians worship today are actually amalgams formed out of ancient pagan gods. The idea of a "virgin birth", "burial in a rock tomb", "resurrection after 3 days" and "eating of body and drinking of blood" had nothing to do with Jesus. All of the rituals in Christianity are completely man-made. Christianity is a snow ball that rolled over a dozen pagan religions. As the snowball grew, it freely attached pagan rituals in order to be more palatable to converts. You can find accounts like these in popular literature:

"The vestiges of pagan religion in Christian symbology are undeniable. Egyptian sun disks became the halos of Catholic saints. Pictograms of Isis nursing her miraculously conceived son Horus became the blueprint for our modern images of the Virgin Mary nursing Baby Jesus. And virtually all the elements of the Catholic ritual - the miter, the altar, the doxology, and communion, the act of "God-eating" - were taken directly from earlier pagan mystery religions."

"Nothing in Christianity is original. The pre-Christian God Mithras - called the Son of God and the Light of the World - was born on December 25, died, was buried in a rock tomb, and then resurrected in three days. By the way, December 25 is also the birthday or Osiris, Adonis, and Dionysus. The newborn Krishna was presented with gold, frankincense, and myrrh. Even Christianity's weekly holy day was stolen from the pagans."

then why does it seem that as a Chriatain, i have been less and less tolerated for my views by the very people pressing tolerance. an example, a kid at school got mad at me for disagreeing with gay marriage. he was accusing me of being a homo phobe (im not, i have a good friend that is lesbian/bi im not sure which it is now) he was saying things like i need tolerance, to embrace differant views, I AGREE STOP TRYING TO CHANGE MY VIEWS, im tired of being called intolerant, by people not being tolerant of my religion. isnt that the best example of when you point a finger you have three back at you?

What does God say about dreams, and different kinds of dreams? Can dreams be the work of God? What if you have dreams of deceased loved ones, are they of God or of the Devil? Where in the bible does it talk about dreams specifically, if it does at all?

I'm referring to this scripture in Gen 6:1 -4. It reads:

"Now it came about, when men began to multiply on the face of the land, and daughters were born to them, that the sons of God saw that the daughters of men were beautiful; and they took wives for themselves, whomever they chose."

I'll skip verse 3 because it doesn't pertain.

"The Nephilim (giants) were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men, and they bore children to them. THOSE WERE THE MIGHTY MEN WHO WERE OF OLD, MEN OF RENOWN."

I capitalized that last sentence because it sounds like the children of these strange angel-women marriages may have been the "gods" from Greek mythology. What does anyone think of this??

The most obvious example of this is the bible and how it is believed. I ask this because of the innate nature of experience, and that any meaning found from religious texts is actually meaning you found within yourself. You read the bible and apply its words to your filters, pre-conceptions, and biases and find meaning. The truth you acknowledge is something brought out from within yourself, not from the bible or such. The concept of Jesus and God that you pray to is not the same concept shared by everyone, as everyone's understanding of the world is unique to them and their experiences. The idea of Jesus that Tom holds in mind while praying will be different from the concept Jane holds while praying. So knowing this, why do people seek God outside of themselves? After all, every insignificant piece of existence was made by God, correct? And unlike inanimate objects, we have souls and have an internal experience. How could reflecting on God within yourself be inferior to external....

And one more thing.......... if he paid for our sins........shouldn't we have all packed up and been in heaven by now.

None of this makes sense.

I mean, how else are we to ever learn about the human body to completion, without testing our drugs, on humans. I mean drugs made for humans should be tested on humans, Shouldn’t it? How else can we truly learn? So there are a few deaths and mishaps, so what its in the name of Science.

That would give us something to do with the unwanteds.

People always say the Devil influences the weak but never why they're weak, lustful, greedy or why they lack faith. It's not a matter of chance where some people are stronger and some are not. There's always a reason.

Each decision we make is determinded by what we are currently going through. Some can handle it better than others. Some cannot control there inner issues and make very bad decisions that result in bad events we term as "sin". Do you think God factors in what we can't and forgives so much more because the person is not as responisble as "we" think? Note: Not looking for excuses. Just thinking some times much more is going on in the inner person we know nothing about.
