yet they use Examples like the Crusade and Hitler to disprove organized religion.
Logic - In the Bible it says in order to be a Christian one must be more Christlike. Read Jesus sermon on the mount. Blessed are the Meek, Blessed are the Peacemakers... etc etc. There is only one time in the Bible that Jesus was angry and that was when he found markets set up in a temple. He talked and ate with known criminals and sinners. IT TAKES MORE THAN ONE SAYING THAT HE IS CHRISTIAN TO REALLY BE CHRISTIAN. You can not be a christian and be responisble for the killing of innocents. Jesus knew there were wrong ways to live your life and would tell you what was wrong about it. Why in many arenas and at the time he was called "teacher". But he wouldnt NOT belittle or marginalize the sinner.
...just some Logical thoughts and setting the record straight .. thanks

seriously quoteing the Bible?
Peter's 2nd sermon in acts
And it shall come to pass, that every soul who will not hear that Prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people
Its not talking about Christians being given power to slaughter non believers. It is saying that those who disbelieve the prophet will be destroyed.
Stop quoteing scripture when you have no clue. And really some of you responed by just trying to be insulting... it was funny and kind of sad that you chose not to respond to what i said, but to just spew out what you usually do when you cant think of how to respond.. it really shows a weakness on your part

True. The argument that Hitler is a devout Christian is nowhere justified in the Bible. First, the Bible says "Thou shalt not kill." Also, though Jesus says that forgiveness is open to the murderer, the Apostle Paul in Romans 6 says that we cannot take advantage of God's forgiveness by committing evil over and over again. Paul said "Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? God forbid: How can we, who are dead to sin, live any longer therein?" The Bible also gives a strict definition of a Christian that says that those who are not dead to sin are not Christians.
We can even employ a combination logic and scripture to show that Hitler wasn't a Christian as defined by the Bible. If we are dead to sin, we do not live any longer therein. Christians are dead to sin. According to the rules of logic, only the contrapositive of a statement is always as true as the original statement. So, switching it around, the contrapositive is that, if a person is not dead to sin (that is, do not stop sinning), then he or she is not a Christian. Hitler killed people over and over, sinning (assuming he even knew what sinning was) brazenly again and again. Therefore, it logically follows that Hitler was not a Christian.
Those who argue that Hitler was a devout Christian have made a gross jump in logic and have not even considered the definition of the word "Christian" as it is defined in the Bible.
Furthermore, I can make the same argument against atheists. I can talk about killers who didn't believe in God and add "By the way, that killer was a devout atheist." What is the definition of an atheist? A person who doesn't believe in God. Does atheism officially forbid the killing of innocents, like Christianity does? No. Therefore, I can use their same logic to arrive at the conclusion that atheism allows the murder of innocents, and my conclusion would be even more justified than their tenuous one, since atheism doesn't forbid murder.
EDIT: To gruz: Acts 3:23: And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.
The verse says "shall be destroyed," implies that God will destroy them, not Christians. Deutoronomy 18:19's meaning in the original Hebrew is "I will require it of him," meaning "I will punish him.
Deu 18:19 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him. [God speaking]
The Septaguint renders it "I will punish him" or "I will take vengeance on him," meaning God would. Paul simply substituted it with "shall be destroyed," but it is obvious from the other two verses that he means that God would be doing the punishing, not Christians.

I don't see how anyone would be using HItler to disprove your religion, let alone organized religion, where you trying to find a different word there?
I've seen people use it when many Christians on this site are hateful towards Muslims, as it is the same principle, just on a radical scale. The Crusades where from the direct church, directly representative of Christianity.
The rest of your post goes on to really nothing, sorry, I don't see much to work with.

Not a question or an answer...nor is it logical to assume a man is the Son of a God. Nor is it logical to sweep the Crusades under a rug - the Crusades was typical Christian thought for several CENTURIES buddy.

No, girl, that would not work in a debate club. The reason why a lot of Christians try to go door-to-door converting new members and waste their time on "non-believers", and people of other religions by using the bible is because they are really kind of naive. It is more likely that a Christian like myself could have more of an impact on someone like you by my example and charitable works; because, these are things that you can see for yourself and these are things that can help people gain a testimony of faith. (not a book) By the way, I have a question for you, why do atheists seem to think they can convert Christians by using quotes from 19th century German philosophers?

This of course operates on the a priori assumptions that:
a: One wants to be a Christian,
b: The Bible is an authority to be relied upon.

In Acts 3:23, Peter claims that Deuteronomy 18:18-19 refers to Jesus, saying that those who refuse to follow him (all non-Christians) must be killed. Very logical huh?

I don't use examples like the Crusades and Hitler to disprove organized religion. Organized religion is devoid of logic and rationality, as is the Bible.

Quote: "responisble(sic) for the killing of innocents"
Find your bible. Read the parts before that whole Jesus character shows up, it's called the Old Testament.
God (Jesus) kills many innocents....thousands of them. Women, children, fetuses, oxen, cattle. The whole nine yards.
He does do one nice thing though, he allows the virgin little girls to be raped and married to his invading hoards. Nice guy.

It would be nice if that were the religion Christians actually practiced. I'm sure a few do, but most don't. It's not a judgemnt. All you have to do is look at their actions. Actions=what you practice.

Ummm... the Crusaders represented Christianity to the fullest extent possible in that time period... And if those who kill innocents are not Christians, then what do you say about a nation that dropped an atomic bomb on a civilian population?
