some people will try to get you to believe this but it is not true, angels are referred to as being sexless in the bible. the real interpretation is that the sons of god are referring to the godly line of seth in those days and the sons of men were the ones worshipping false gods and that the godly people saw that some of the pagan worshippers daughters were pleasing to the eye and took them as wives.

The Nephilim may indeed have been on the earth in the days when the sons of God mated with the daughters of men. However, it does not say that the Nephilim were the results of those unions. IMO the sons of God were male believers while the daughters of men were female unbelievers. What could have happened was that it became fashionable for believers to start intermarrying with unbelievers which led to a worldwide apostasy, culminating in the day when only one believer, Noah, was left.
As for Greek mythology, by dabbling into fan fiction, I've discovered how imaginative people can be, even kids. Greek mythology is a combination of primitive philosophizing about the world, legends of heroic figures and above all human imagination.
That's my opinion FWIW.

Some say that the Sons of God won that name because the divine light out of which God had created their ancestor Samael, Cain's father, shone from their faces. The Daughters of Men, they say, were the children of Seth, whose father was Adam, not an angel; and their faces therefore resembled our own.
Others, however, make the Sons of God pious descendants of Seth, and the Daughters of Men sinful descendants of Cain - explaining that when Abel died childless, mankind soon divided into two tribes; namely the Cainites who, apart from Enoch, where wholly evil, and the Sethites who were wholly righteous. These Sethites inhabited a sacred mountain in the far north, near the Cave of Treasure - some take it for Mount Hermon. The Cainites lived apart in a valley to the westward. Adam, on his deathbed, ordered Seth to separate his tribe from the Cainites; and each Sethite patriarch publicly repeated this order, generation after generation. The Sethites were extraordinarily tall, like their ancestor; and by living so close to the Gate of Paradise, won the name "Children of God.

All of your questions make sense. Problem is people get upset if you believe their religion is based upon myth. Archaeologists say well the bible is correct because look at all the temples etc. that we find to back up our stories. Problem is you can also back up Roman and Greek god stories with temples, etc., as well. So why are we saying one is more real than the other? You can't see these Greek and Roman gods, you can't see the Judea-Christian/Islamic god(s) either. Oh of course they all have these historical people to back up their religion, but that doesn't change the fact that we haven't seen a single god/allah have we? I like you resent laws that govern a religion that has nothing to do with me. Religion should be a private thing, believe if you want, but don't pass laws to control me for what might amount to the same thing as Greek and Roman mythical gods in the far future. My father used to say "don't say it out loud the gods might be listening." Don't know why but I love that line.He of course was hedging his bet by accepting all gods, but on a deeper meaning he was saying that once you put it out there in the universe anything can happen.

Quite probably, most mythology has some basis in truth. However knowing the facts and rightly interpreting them are two different things. The other issue to consider is how people tend to distort things through transferal. You have probably tried the experiment where you have 10 people sitting in a circle, one whispers into his neighbor's ear, then that one into his neighbor's ear, and so on, down the line. By the time it gets back to the originator, it's usual something quite different than it was at the start..

Having studied greek Mythology rather than the Bible I have to say that those are very interesting quotes.
Yes there were "gods" of various sizes and abilities and the ancient Greeks recorded their activities at that time. We call these myths, but like the Bible they are really just written records. Both unforunately due to language used and mis duplication, mis translation etc, they become altered or interpreted incorrectly.

Hahaha, what do you want to know? Of course some of it is truth, you just won't hear much about it nowadays. A longer answer is coming.
According to ancient mythology Cronus (saturn) was wrapped in chains and cast out of the Heavens by Zeus (jupiter). Saturn has rings, of course, and what these people may have witnessed was Jupiter passing its rings to Saturn. The ancient skies probably looked much more different than the skies we look at these days.
Also, Ares (mars) was struck by a bolt of lightning which scarred his face. This could actually have been our ancestors witnessing the devastation of Mars. The Valles Marineris is the location of this lightning bolt.

They were not children born of women and fallen angels. They were children born of men who were possessed by devil spirits and produced children who metamorphosed because of the potency of the spirits that were inhabiting them.
The ancient myths originated in demonology and were elements in the devil's scheme to confuse and distort reality so that mankind would turn away from God.

i never thought of that. that could very well be.
supposedly this is one reason why god sent the flood. however this happened after the flood as well, note: david and goliath, goliath was a nephilim.
if your really looking to learn bout this, a great source of information would be a guy named Chuck Missler, sermon "The Nephilim"
you can google video him its about 2 hrs long very good and informative. u should be able to get cd or tapes of him at a christian bookstore too.
