Why is it that just because some christians (or other religions) don't act entirely the way they should...why are we bashed? I mean, just because I don't always act or show God in a completely Godly way doesn't mean that I can't identify myself as a christian...I am a Christian in training. Anyone else feel the same way?!?

ghost?"
Most of the hands go up.
"And how many of you have had some form of interaction with a ghost?"
About half the hands stay up.
"Okay, now how many of you have had *physical* contact with a ghost?"
Three hands stay up; there's a slight murmur in the crowd.
"Gosh, that's pretty good. Okay, have any of you ever, uh..., been *intimate* with a ghost?"
One hand stays up. The speaker blinks.
"Gosh, sir, are you telling us that you've actually had *sexual* contact with a ghost?"
The fellow suddenly blushes and says, "Oh, I'm sorry,... I thought you said goat!"

The other day some guy told me that evolution is a false because it doesn't have god in it.
so lets see , from what i can tell god isn't in coulombs law so apperently electricity is a myth to fundies. oh i don't remember seeing god mentioned in newtons 1st law of motion so apperently fundies can run into a wall and not get hurt.
and since heliocentrism isn't supported in the bible but geocentrism is(Gen. 1:9-18,Ps. 93:1 & 1 Chron. 16:30) apperantly the sun revolves around the earth and with that newtons law of gravity (F = G Ma Mb / r2) wich also doesn't mention god in it must be thrown out by fundies.

This is probably old news but I just saw this.

Can you believe that this is really happening?

Washington, DC — Grand Canyon National Park is not permitted to give an official estimate of the geologic age of its principal feature, due to pressure from Bush administration appointees. Despite promising a prompt review of its approval for a book claiming the Grand Canyon was created by Noah's flood rather than by geologic forces, more than three years later no review has ever been done and the book remains on sale at the park, according to documents released today by Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility (PEER).

“In order to avoid offending religious fundamentalists, our National Park Service is under orders to suspend its belief in geology,” stated PEER Executive Director Jeff Ruch. “It is disconcerting that the official position of a national park as to the geologic age of the Grand Canyon is ‘no comment.’”

I wonder if believers have faith because of an experience of answered prayer.

Would you have faith if no prayer had ever been answered?

If they have, what prayers have been answered?

Gay is OK, liberalism is OK, abortion is OK, but God and Jesus are not, and that's why so many people here are going to burn in ~~~~HELL~~~~ unless they turn it around NOW.

work? If so, do you do it by yourself, as part of a group, as part of a religious group, or what? Is it anonymous, or out in the open?

Basically, tell me about your charity work. Not necessarily what exactly you do, or how it made you feel, but how you got started, who - if any one you do it with, if it is religious in nature or not, etc.

I'm trying to increase my charity and just want to know generalities concerning your experiences.

In addition to the normal photosynthesis pathway, cacti (and some other plants) have an additional pathway that is specialized for photosynthesis in a water-scarce environment (called the CAM pathway). If before the flood the all plants were watered by a fine mist that was sufficient for the growth of tall timber(see this question for more details: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AnPkVCU7kiRJxaVuxpA.sjzsy6IX?qid=20070109153609AAWFhGz) then why did God create this special pathway in cacti?

The only 'logical' conclusion that I can see is that he knew that the fall would occur and subsequently that the flood would occur. If he knew both of these things in advance, can it truly be said that Adam and Eve were perfect when he created them?

First Jesus is God (according to the bible), don't believe me:

http://www.christiananswers.net/kids/ednk-jesusgodorman.html

But he talked to God, like "father why have you forsaken me?" Isn't he just talking to himself, someone else asked this question, and no one had an answer, in fact many Christians said that he is just the son of god, but you can't be both the son and the father, you just can't. I can beleive (though I don't) that God can come down as a man. That makes sense, but why would he talk to himself then?

DECLINE OF ROME: "Gibbon considered that Christianity had contributed to this, making the populace less interested in the worldly here-and-now and more willing to wait for the rewards of heaven." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Decline_of_the_Roman_Empire

Gibbon didnt know the half of it. Rome lasted 1000 years. What a coincidence that, not long after Christianty became the state religion, did Rome fall.

Look at America today. Each new generation has a more naive, simplistic, and weak worldview. Each generation continues to be influenced by pacifist Christian morality. Love your enemy. Turn the other cheek.

It matters not whether they practice this in their personal lives. The issue is, Americans use this moral code as a foundation. Particular the left-wing. Think about it. Almost every pathetic dim-witted weak fool from the left is a Christian, not an atheist or whatever...but a Christian.

Where does are this defeatist thinking come from? The left which gets it from Xianty.
