Why cacti?

Question

In addition to the normal photosynthesis pathway, cacti (and some other plants) have an additional pathway that is specialized for photosynthesis in a water-scarce environment (called the CAM pathway). If before the flood the all plants were watered by a fine mist that was sufficient for the growth of tall timber(see this question for more details: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AnPkVCU7kiRJxaVuxpA.sjzsy6IX?qid=20070109153609AAWFhGz) then why did God create this special pathway in cacti?

The only 'logical' conclusion that I can see is that he knew that the fall would occur and subsequently that the flood would occur. If he knew both of these things in advance, can it truly be said that Adam and Eve were perfect when he created them?

Your answer: Cacti evolved to exist in a harsh environment. This CAM path didn't suddenly appear. Nature simply changes things at a gradual pace to make the best use of their surroundings.

Adam and Even were never "perfect" in the sense that you seem to mean it. They were just guilt free.

And since God knows everything, then yes, he saw the fall of man and its resulting consequences in advance, but he created us anyway.

Add this to the list of questions that make no sense to creationists. However, if they've already ignored the great mountain of evidence for geological transitions and biological evolution, they won't feel the prick of the cactus needle, either.
