DECLINE OF ROME: "Gibbon considered that Christianity had contributed to this, making the populace less interested in the worldly here-and-now and more willing to wait for the rewards of heaven." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Decline_of_the_Roman_Empire

Gibbon didnt know the half of it. Rome lasted 1000 years. What a coincidence that, not long after Christianty became the state religion, did Rome fall.

Look at America today. Each new generation has a more naive, simplistic, and weak worldview. Each generation continues to be influenced by pacifist Christian morality. Love your enemy. Turn the other cheek.

It matters not whether they practice this in their personal lives. The issue is, Americans use this moral code as a foundation. Particular the left-wing. Think about it. Almost every pathetic dim-witted weak fool from the left is a Christian, not an atheist or whatever...but a Christian.

Where does are this defeatist thinking come from? The left which gets it from Xianty.

The Eastern Roman (Byzantine) Empire lasted for another 1000 years (until 1453 AD) after Rome itself was sacked in 476 AD. Since the Byzantine Empire was predominately a Christian one, I would have to assume that the city of Rome lost its power and influence for reasons other than changing its religion.

NO ROme adopted the religion almost near the end of its deline and by that point it was to counteract pegan worship. I forgot who was the firt emperor who did this, but Rome was already in decline before the religion took a popular form

The fall of the Roman Empire was caused by much more than religion. Climate change, technological advances by the barbarians, pressure from refugees and illegal migrants economic reasons like rampant inflation, political compromise the list goes on and on.
