To have a friend, the two of you must be interested in some of the same things, and this shared interest allows you to interact in a building way. If your "friendship" is only a matter of you helping them, then either they will feel like second class citizens, and feel inferior to you (and thus not want you around) or the problem will be temporarily solved and either they will not need you, or will feel indebted and no way to pay.

I am the same way. Or used to be. I was way too gulible. But they weren't true friends if that is what they did. You are better off without them. Pray for a good friend to come your way. I did and now I have a great friend who loves to talk about God. I will pray for you because I know how bad that hurts. God Bless

It could be that they were only friends with you in the first place because you were doing something for them. Do you tend to make friends with people who don't need to be helped too? Because if you don't, I would suggest you start, because those are better foundations for a friendship.

It could be that they're really not your friends. A friend is someone you can depend upon as well. You shouldn't be the only one giving in the friendship. Make better choices on picking friends.
