In my country sextuplets were just born and they will be needing blood. The parents are Jehovah Witnesses who don't agree with blood transfusions.

Should the parents be allowed to refuse the blood transfusion even if a child may die as a result of this?

" I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance. but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire"

(King James Bible, Matthew 3:11)

Could both water and fire have symbolical meanings. ? Both are opposites. If the meanings are symbolical. Why do people insist on using the water and not the fire?

You go and use the world's logic the world is going to do the same to thump you with it. Proving God within the framework of human intelligence and logic will not work since God exists outside of our senses. Science cannot prove something it cannot measure. How can science prove God and eternity when both our outside of our physical realm? Science can only deal with things within the physical realm. You're going to turn more people off by coming up with errant logic than anything else. I've done the same thing but then I studied up on logic (couldn't remember it all from my college days.) I found out they are right. You cannot use logic to prove God. You can only use faith. Faith is illogical and exists outside of human wisdom. The only way to do a proof would require that some assumptions are true.

Hebrews 11:1
1 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.

If it rained for 40 days and 40 nights when did they have time to cook? The rain would put out the fire wouldn't it? And we all know that the fire would smoke up the whole ark and poison all the animals if it were built inside.

So what did Noah and his family eat?

What's the most ridiculous stories (myths preferable) that you've heard about Mormons???

I personally think that the thought that "Mormons have horns" is the most idiotic. I can see where it's almost feasible for people who were BORN Mormon, but what about converts? Do they get implants at baptism? It doesn't make sense.

(And no, Mormon's don't have horns. I've checked.)

I see many people saying things like "if God is real and he'll send you to hell for not believing in him..." or "why would God send someone to hell for not believing in him".

Here is your answer.
God made you, he is alot smarter than you, and he loves you. He gave us rules to live by, for our own good; every one of his laws was to protect us and to help us, and if you live by his word he will bless you. He even died before many of us were born, so that we could be reconciled with him. But we have continuously defied him. If after all he has blessed you with (life, love, and all you have), you would still reject him and live for your own selfish desires, why should you get to spend eternity in paradise with him? Why would you want to? Theres only one place left to go...what, is he suppose to let you just sin all your life and then be rewarded with nonexistance or another place "just for sinners, but not hell"?

For spiritualists, their "evidence" is based on what their emotions and inner senses tell them. For materialists, their "evidence" is based on what they outwardly observe in the physical world with their senses. The only reason that the materialist position is more "believable" is because it is the basic, default experience in this life. Some look for other meaning, while materialists mostly do not.

I'm not trying to change your thoughts or anything, I just think that it's unfair to unanimously decide that others' beliefs and findings are invalid just because you think yours are infallible. It's basically being narrow-minded, something people shouldn't be (as I'm sure you agree).

I, personally, vary from believing in spirituality to materialism, but I don't shun the other option when I'm focused on one, because the "evidence" we have for either one is not concrete beyond what our senses can observe. Our senses observe both physical AND emotional entities.

Thoughts?

An owner of a deli in mycity is being sued for religious discrimination after he recently fired a Muslim for not being able to perform the job he was hired for. The owner hired the Muslim, not asking his religious affiliation (because it's illegal) and wasn't aware that Muslims cannot handle pork products. The job, was to cut various lunchmeats, prepare and serve various foods, most of which contained pork products (ham, bacon, sausage) or things like shrimp and crab. The employee refused to handle these products claiming it to be against his religion. The owner even provided him with rubber gloves so his skin wouldnt contact the meats. But, the employee claimed a thin peice of laytex didnt keep out the "uncleanliness"

Now, I am not an authority on Islam but there are quite a few Muslims here that own delis and handle pork products even if they dont eat it. Was this employee wrong or was the owner wrong for fiering him? How do you think the court will rule?

Jesus states to help your fellow man (also in the bible), then how does the following scenario happen?
A young innocent girl is kidnapped and raped and brutalized by some sick individual. That girl had always been good, prayed to god, etc. With God being all powerful he could have stopped that suffering, but did not. With God being all knowing, he would have known ahead of time this was going to happen and could have stopped it. With God being all present, God would have been there through all of that pain and suffering and still done nothing, but just watched. How is it then possible that God is all good, and not sadistic? God did not lift a finger and watched the suffering and torture and could have done something, knew it was going to happen, but just sadistically did nothing. How is it that God will not lift a finger, but his son says to help all others out? Kind of hypocritical.

So far as I can tell, that would be the only way for man and dinosaur to co-exist. Otherwise, we couldn't stand a chance against the giant beasts.

so here's my question:

How did we domesticate them? was it instantaneous or did we have to have to wade through a few generations of semi-domestic dinosaurs before they were fully domesticated?

I am trying really hard to remember what the term is for someone who believes that god exists, but doesn't believe that mankind has the capability to comprehend, understand, or grasp the true nature of god. It isn't agnostic, emphasis-- believe in god, cant understand, not a questioning/uncertainty of whether or not there is a god.

The ideas and theories of evolution have changed over the years. But they have always been taught as fact Will this dogmatic shortsightness continue. Or will you come up with new theories to justify your beliefs.

God has been giving me orders for the past week in a big booming voice. He told me recently to paint my car pink and purple. Previous to that he told me to withdrawel all my money and place it under my front door mat. I am not sure what his purpose is in these divine directives. My neighbor is letting me use his new bullhorn to speak back to God. What a good neighbor.
