It's a very good thing that Christianity and Judaism have been secularized. In fact, we can use that to say the West was the first to develop secularism. But have we equated secularism with absolute atheism? Has Western society suffered ethically and morally as a result of the decline of Christianity? If so, how can we use the beneficial and positive aspects of religion to improve our society, while enjoying all the benefits of secular democracy?

what are some of the greatest dangers a believer battles in their walk with God? Of course sin...but what sin?

Christians imply Jesus-destined to be the savior-could only be perfect and was incapable of sin. Yet Christians also insist he should be adored and praised for being the perfect savior, although he couldn't be anything else but what he was.

"He was the son of God" is NOT a response, by the way. As the son of God, what else could he be but perfect? That answer avoids the subject.

They also say Jesus should be glorified because he was sinless, even though they also believe he was not capable of sinning. According to Christian belief, Jesus did what he was destined to do, and had to do. Something here doesn't gel.

The feeling I get from Christians is that they believe Jesus deserves to be adored-yet how could Jesus have been anything else but Jesus?

Edgar Cayce believed Jesus had previous lives, beginning with Adam, and developed his Christhood through reincarnating, but Christians generally believe Jesus was just zapped here in total perfection. Really explain this enigma--anyone?

Why are their so many flaws?

Planets don't revolve in true circles around stars. Comets and asteroids smash into planets. Whole galaxies collide with each other...

On Earth, tornados and hurricanes wreak havok with all forms of life. Life spans are short due to the inherant flaws in the "designs" of their bodies...

The work of a "god"?

Hardly!

Or just utterly mental?

http://www.davidicke.com/index.php/

It looks to me as if he's peddled a mixture of stating the obvious (amazingly, he predicted that there'd be a hurricane in southern USA - where they regularly have hurricanes), vague ideas that could be attributed to ANYTHING (fathers will follow sons) and complete nonsense (the queen is a reptile).

Am I missing out by refusing to take any notice of him? Should someone have a word in his ear? Is anyone actually convinced, or are they just amused by him?

I was watching Charlie Rose the other night on PBS. He had scientists on his show, like DR.WATSON (Watson and Crick - disocvered DNA helix), all these guys talked as if the entire scientific community had already excepted evolution!

They were discussing the mapping of the human genome and all the amazing discoveries coming from it. Part of the discussing included the mapping of NEADERTHAL Dna and what was learned by comparing a hominds genetic material with that of modern humans.

"evolution gives us the entire map, and it all fits perfectly" said one MIT professor. Apparently, everything they unravel with the mapping project is perfectly consistent with evolution.

OK IGNORANT PEOPLE...COMMENCE RATIONALIZATIONS NOW -----

Which part of you decides to make you choose your religion?

Think for a moment before answering this question,
If two people who are genius presented to them a religion for the first time, one of them accepted while the other refused it and he decided to be an Atheist. Which part makes them decided different opinion?
Answers: 1- IQ is not accepted …why? Because we see people with low IQ are Atheist and visa versa
2- free will is not accepted because am talking about convincing.

Simply both Atheist and believer in god know the same information but have different opinion.

If God created evil, then He shouldn't complain about it! If, on the other hand, someone else (Satan?) created it, then God is not the only creator... Lastly, if evil has always existed, then it shares the same status as God!

do you tell me that my God was so weak that his mother was taking care of him, teach him how to walk, dress him up, calm him down when he cries?
do you tell me that my God go to the bathroom?
my God sleeps?
my God is being tortured by the people he creates till he moved to heavens?

"Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.", but yet Christians still think that stem cell research is wrong, homosexuality is wrong, and this and that are wrong. How is that possible, if the God that you worship in the Bible states that he made everything, then why so much wrong with the world and everything that goes on? And blaming it on the devil takes away the position that God created EVERYTHING (if you are not sure check definition), if the devil creates something, then God did not create everything.

Everybody has different beliefs and ideas, even people who are part of the same religion and people who worship the same gods. What are your personal beliefs? Not your religion's beliefs, YOUR personal beliefs. Whether it's about God or gods or death or the beginning. Share whatever you want about your beliefs.
