Ok I know what the stages are and all the dandy stuff, but what I'm asking about is how did they get people to believe this stuff? Yes Yes, in a way it's like the bible, but at least we have proff of those happenings. Instead they pour out the science saying something that event the creator of thetheory denonced it on his death bed! Tell me if you believe this theory or not please.

Reading your question, it is apparent that the ideas you have about evolution in general are somone else's. Were you apart of a conversation with some people you consider "cool" and are now taking on some warped approach to life? I'm guessing you're about 15 years old with no clue as to how this planet, people on it, or even the DINOSAURS that once walked on it came into existence. Why don't you do some research of your own and then decide for yourself. No one else can do that for you.

"I don't 'believe in' evolution. I accept it, because it's fact. Just like gravity."

Oh dear, someone has been taught that gravity and evolution are facts and therefore accepts it completely. I have a couple of points to make.

Firstly. Evolution is a theory and not a fact. It is by far the best theory to explain the situation, but it has not been proven so cannot be called a fact.

Secondly. Gravity... It's a misconception that gravity is well understood. Try the link and you'll read about how understanding gravity is expected to be a major area for 21st century science. It's quite possible that what we call gravity will be laughed about in 50 years time.

As to the question itself - evolution is not bull crap. It is a very well developed theory that does a good job of explaining the facts. Maybe a better one will be developed in time, but you can guarantee that it will not be creationism.

Evolution, although still a theory, is a much more believable one than anything that came out of the "bible". The theory has been tested by many scientists and produces lots of evidence for the theory of evolution.

Thats where it alters from your creationist theories, as there is no evidence to back it up. Most of it comes from a fictional book that is full of so many contradictions that its hard to believe.

For your information, Darwin did not denounce evolution on his death bed. That is a rumour spread by the church to try and belittle his theory. His relatives (who would have been there!) backed this up also.

So, having studied a lot regarding evolution, Darwin, The Origin of Species I believe this theory to be accurate and true. Religion and "god" in my opinion is not

What is the big deal, for the millionth time. We just love to debate when one side is presented as crap and the other side as magick. I do not study evolution or the Bible, so I can't "pour out science". Evolution just seems to make more sense to me. If I were going to create something--it sure the heck would be a lot better than Homo-sapians. I also appreciate that scientific name. Must make some cringe when they see us all classified as H.

Anyone who believes the bible over science is an idiot. There is plenty of hard evidence for evolution, much much more than there is proof that the Bible is truthful (which would be none). Maybe you should try reading a book other than the bible, you might find that actually learning something is quite exciting.
Oh, and by the way, Darwin didn't denounce his theory on his deathbed. That is a myth made up by religious people.

It is a theory...there is a process of selection where certain traits are passed through succussful proginators of a species. the theory that Darwin took back (that, in fact, he never stated in the first place, but was always a misunderstanding by people) was his theory that people evolved from Monkeys....There was a section in his works where he was making developmentall and physiological comparisons between man and chimps (he, by the way, was doing the same thing with bears, whales, frogs, etc), and people mistook his comparisons for him saying we came from Chimp (or Apes or monkeys)...Read it...it is interesting stuff...it truly shows how closely all of creation is related through the spark of life...anyway --I digress...

We can watch the creative selection of natural traits...it can be proven...the Bible, well...much of the Bible can be proven as well...it can also be proven that the Bible was voted on to be in its current form by a committee...building arguments on something created by a committee...dangerous at best.

I am NOT saying the Bible is not Word, but there are pieces missing...it makes fools of the wise...like the scientific world...there are pieces missing. I'm tired of this black and white business of who is right and who is wrong...it is a matter of faith and the understanding that we will never know the Whole truth until we are passed from this life and on to the next...I am fairly certain we are all of us going to do the old move where we slap ourselves in the forehead and say, "now why didn't I think of that."

oh, well...be cool.

Well Evolution exsists. No doubt about it. We can observe it occuring and have the remains of it all over our earth. However, did everything EVOLVE from a single celled organism? Probably not. But then again i wouldn't be suprised if I got to heaven, and God told me that everything evolved from a single celled organism. The main premise is that God created. How did he create? Well I will leave that one up to him.

I feel like some are so against any portion of the evolutionary theory, that if they got to heaven and found out that it was true they would be asked to be sent to Hell. You cannot deny the exsistance of some evolution. Even evolution from say sea creatures to land creatures. Yet I do not "buy" the theory that the life as we know it all evolved from source of nonlife.

Neither do over many current evolution proffessors/biology proffessors. From John Hopkins, Harvard, Yale, you name it.

No he did not recant his theory on his death bed. This is a story that is created for hype that unfortunately Christians have bought into and use it as evidence against the evolutionary theory.

Uh, it's not about belief, it's about knowledge. Evolution is something that happens. It has been observed scientifically. There's no belief to it.

Many people confuse the simple fact of evolution with the theory of how life flourished that is based on evolution (what is commonly referred to as the Theory of Evolution). Animals do, in fact, evolve. While I believe that they all evolved from the simplest organisms, I can accept that people debate this. The evidence does leave room for questions. However, you can't argue about the fact that evolutionary changes of some magnitude do happen. We see it. We even evolve plants ourselves to make them more resistant and productive (for example). They get all this from scientific observation.

People get the "bull crap" about evolution from religious people who don't know what they are talking about.

They got people to believe it because its reasonable and it works to explain life on this planet. We do not have proof of the things in the bible. The things in the bible were made by people who also believed that the Earth was flat and was in the middle of the universe and guess how that turned out.

None of us could ever make you believe in evolution.

You've already decided it's "bull crap", despite the fact that you don't seem to understand what evolution actually is.

Oh, and can you prove that we're all decendents of Adam and Eve? Just because a 2000 year old book says something is true, that doesn't mean it is "proof".
