It is doubtful the so-called "Pope" approves of Catholics converting to become Jehovah's Witnesses. Of course, that human opinion is worth little to godly people among Jehovah's Witnesses.
The ONLY opinions of ongoing interest to a true Witness are those of Jehovah and Christ Jesus. Those who work to ingratiate themselves with some human or human group are not doing God's will.
(1 Thessalonians 2:4) We speak, as pleasing, not men, but God, who makes proof of our hearts.
(Matthew 6:20,21) Store up for yourselves treasures in heaven... For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Jehovah's Witnesses have the true religion. They are Christian (of course), but they are unique for their rejection of paganisms, use of God's personal name, and global preaching by every active adherent. No other religious organization can claim such purity of worship.
These facts about Jehovah's Witnesses are perhaps relevant to this question. The more one compares this Christian religion with others, the more remarkable it is shown to be.
1. Jehovah's Witnesses have no paid clergy. Yet they remain tightly organized with more than 6.5 million active Jehovah's Witness preachers (about 16 million associate themselves with the religion). Even fulltime preachers and workers at their branch offices are unpaid volunteers.
2. There is no elite class among Jehovah's Witnesses. Even the few 'anointed' among them enjoy no special privileges in their congregations on earth. An anointed person (one of those relative few with a heavenly hope) is not elevated above his fellow congregants in any way, and he may not even qualify for appointment as a simple 'deacon' or elder. There are no titles; EVERYONE is addressed as 'brother' or 'sister'.
3. No person benefits economically from the Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. Even the 8 to 20 men who serve on their Governing Body receive simply room, board, medical care, and reimbursement for certain personal expenses according to the exact same provision as every other branch volunteer.
4. About a hundred men have served on Jehovah's Witnesses' Governing Body committee during the past 125 years or so. The vast majority of them have spent the vast majority of their adult lives volunteering for their organization's purposes, and the vast majority have died faithfully and near-pennilessly while still under their legal 'vow of poverty'.
5. Amazingly, Jehovah's Witnesses did not splinter as a sect from some other religion. Instead, a truly tiny but sincere group of bible students studied only the Scriptures to determine the will of God. Thus their religion remains absolutely independent of and not carrying the sins of Christendom's history, yet carries the authority of Christ's teachings.
6. Despite the distortions of anti-Witnesses, throughout their modern history Jehovah's Witnesses have refused to claim divine inspiration or infallibility for their teachings. They have pointed to the bible (and not any particular translation) as the only inspired infallible means of knowing God's thoughts. For over 125 years, their teachings have been presented as merely the results of sincere bible research by imperfect but godly humans.

I dont know if you will get many answers to this question since people tend to shy away from religion but here is my opinion on the matter. First of all no the Jehovahs Witnesses are not sanctioned by the pope because they are not catholic. As far as it being the right religion that is personal choice religion is something that you have to feel. If you are confused do what i did I couldn't find myself and I didnt know what i believed so i went to a number of different churches until i found one that was right for me. good luck and God bless

The watchtower and tract society is a cult. VERY bad theology, and is NOT christian. They do not believe that Jesus was God. And believe that you are saved by your works and not by faith in Christ alone.
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
The Holy Bible : English standard version. 2001 (Jn 1:1). Wheaton: Standard Bible Society.
I assume the two down thumbs are from the JW's. Big suprise.
I have had three years of Biblical Greek. You can not add an article in John 1.1 . It is a predicate nominative, the rules of Greek grammar are very strict and will not allow it.
Jesus calling himself God in John 8:58 is just that, he called himself the TITLE of God "I am" γενέσθαι ἐγὼ εἰμί. Genesthai is an inceptive aorist which really doesn't have anything to do with the translation anyways except stating that "before" Abraham was "born". The great thing is the "ego eimi". It is an emphatic. The point that Jesus was getting at had NOTHING to do with the TENSE of the verb. MANY JW's will try to change the issue of meaning of the TENSE from present to past perfect. THAT is not the issue, the issue, WHY? Because Jesus made it EMPHATIC. What JW's shy away from is the fact that "eimi" alone means "I am" but Jesus said "ego eimi", in Greek this is called an emphatic, it uses the same word TWICE. Ego means "I" so he was saying " I AM". Why didn't he just say eimi? It is the EXACT same title that Jehovah (the burning bush) gave to Moses. Tell them "I AM" (ego eimi) sent you. Jesus here was saying that He himself was that burning bush that talked to Moses. JW's do not have ANY Greek scholars, know why? Because they know how the JW's slaughter the Greek and that it is sad that they follow a Judge who didn't know Greek instead of what has been known for THOUSANDS of years. The council of Nicene took care of the JW's and their "neo Arianism" a long time ago.

Jesus mentioned at John eight:32, "and YOU will realize the reality, and the reality will set YOU loose.” So we see the TRUTH it units us loose, allow me ask you, "do you no longer suppose you've got the reality ? If no longer why no longer ? If I inspiration that an extra denomination had the reality then I could have joined them, most likely! I have heard the only approximately the so referred to as many Armageddon dates so mostly, and in fact, there used to be plenty of hypothesis that 1975 would deliver us nearly the tip, the WT by no means did say that the tip used to be going to return again then, handiest that, "the times left earlier than the tip are lowered" as 1975 marked the 6,000th yr from Adam being on this planet ! Jesus additionally mentioned, involving the tip "nobody is aware of the day nor the hour" and he then went on to mention, "preserve at the watch, for that day will come as a thief within the night time, and at an hour that you're no longer anticipating it is going to come". So I say, it's bigger to preserve at the watch and be a bit of keen than to be asleep and leave out that day all in combination !! We suppose the bible is Gods phrase, Jesus mentioned in connection to his father "your phrase is fact" so it's the bible that's TRUTH!

Boy you ask a tough one.
The Straight forward answer absolutely, NO.
The proof you are asking for would take more time than I can fill here in this answer box.
There are several very good sites to visit. John Ankerburg is a very well known Christian Apologist and Theologian who can answer your questiopn in depth. http://www.ankerberg.com/
Jehovah's Witnesses were started in the late 1700's by a former Baptist minister who began predicting when the world would come to an end. Lots of strange predicitions were made and finally in the early 1980's they quit.
Their belief system is built on a non-belief in hell or condemnation. Well, the one thing they have to do to eliminate the consequences of hell is to change the nature or doctrine of who Jesus Christ is, the one who holds the keys to death and hell in his hands. We will all stand before Jesus someday and answer for what we have done in this life.
Around 1950 the Watchtower Society, (JW ruling body), finally put together their own bible called the New World Translation and since 1950 have consistantly and conviently kept changing scriptures to fit what they want to present about Christ.
The most notable change is the beginning of the Gospel of John where they have changed the wording.
John Chap 1 v.1
In the beginning there was the Word. The Word was with God, and the Word was God.
New World Translation reads
In the beginning there was the Word. The Word was with God, and the Word was a god.
The Greek word for "God" is "Theos" and it is spoken twice in the scripture here in verse 1 of John.
They have conveniently changed it to "a god" which does not fit the translation of Theos. There is no word for "a" or "an" in Greek. And by saying this, they demote Jesus to one of many gods.
Taking it even farther, they state that God did not actually come down and make Mary pregnant for the Virgin brith. None of that can be easily explained in there point of view. They simply want to say that Michael the ArchAngel came down and took on a kind of "cloak" in human form and when Jesus would have gone back up to heaven Michael simply shed that existence and became Michael again.

Hope that helps

I am glad I converted to Catholicism.
I am always seeking knowledge.
I found this info online as 'additional readings" :
Protestants being thus impious enough to make liars of Jesus Christ, of the Holy Ghost, and of the Apostles, need we wonder if they continually slander Catholics, telling and believing worse absurdities about them than the heathens did? What is more absurd than to preach that Catholics worship stocks and stones for gods; set up pictures of Jesus Christ, of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and other saints, to pray to them, and put their confidence in them; that they adore a god of bread and wine; that their sins are forgiven by the priest, without repentance and amendment of life; that the pope or any other person can give leave to commit sin, or that for a sum of money the forgiveness of sins can be obtained ? To these and similar absurdities and slanders, we simply answer: "Cursed is he who believes in such absurdities and falsehoods, with which Protestants impiously charge the children of the Catholic Church. All those grievous transgressions are another source of their reprobation."
"But what faith can we learn from these false teachers when, in consequence of separating from the Church, they have no rule of faith? ... How often Calvin changed his opinions! And, during his life, Luther was constantly contradicting himself: on the single article of the Eucharist, he fell into thirty-three contradictions! A single contradiction is enough to show that they did not have the Spirit of God. "He cannot deny Himself" (II Timothy 2:13). In a word, take away the authority of the Church, and neither Divine Revelation nor natural reason itself is of any use, for each of them may be interpreted by every individual according to his own caprice ... Do they not see that from this accursed liberty of conscience has arisen the immense variety of heretical and atheistic sects? ... I repeat: if you take away obedience to the Church, there is no error which will not be embraced.

No the JW's are not the right religion of God. Only Christ is the right religion of God and the only way to God.
Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6
JW's are a cult and have the NWT version of the bible which completely ignores the diety of Christ. Their "version" is the nuetered version of the Bible.
The rcc pope is just sanctioning people to hell. The rcc is just a bigger cult.

I rather doubt the pope would sanction any other religion as "the true" one, and certainly not the Jehovah's Witlesses.

-You can find out, but not here! As a Jehovah's Wtiness for over 40 years, my wife for 45 --we have found that indeed we try very hard to stick to the Bible's own teaching, especially as explained by Christ--and we do find the all the important answers there.
-We are not any better than anyone else anywhere, but yes indeed we have found out that Jehovah or Yahweh is the name of the True God, and that indeed Jesus did worship God as his God & Father.---so we try hard to do that.
Why I say you will not find the answer here is because, you need to be a Biblical detective and use the Bible in determining that answer. It is the rule book for any body who wants to find out about the Truth that Jesus taught about God. Note please what he said for those who wish to worship, Jehovah God as Jesus did:
(John 4:24) “24 God is a Spirit, and those worshiping him must worship with spirit and truth.””
--Where to find that truth, and please remember "truth does not contradict itself"--by having mysteries involved--Jesus was too honest to support that idea in any way. He also said where it was to found in a very personal prayer to his Father
(John 17:1) “17 Jesus spoke these things, and, raising his eyes to heaven, he said: “Father, the hour has come; glorify your son, that your son may glorify yo. . .”
(John 17:17-19) “17 Sanctify them by means of the truth; YOUR WORD(my caps -the entire Bibe) is truth. 18 Just as you sent me forth into the world, I also sent them forth into the world. 19 And I am sanctifying myself in their behalf, that they also may be sanctified by means of truth.”
(John 17:3) “3 This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ. . .” Note information about God and Christ, not any trinity.
So what you need to do is , get several Bibles, and have a friend or 2 ( or parents who are fair)who have real respect for the Bible--and ask a couple of JW's to come and discuss what you are concerned about.
Now just like in any football, soccer, baseball etc. sport--there is indeed the rule book. If any athlete does not follow rules he is out of the game..You could make that very clear, that is how you are going to conduct this discussion, no unsportsman like conduct or attitude--the rules are the rules--in the most important game ever the "game of life" the stakes are very high, for we all want to live in peace and harmony with Our God and with our neighbor.
That is my recommendation, by the time you read this you will get some replies from Jehovah's Witnesses, but unless I am mistaken you will get a lot more from those who say , watch out for those JW's they are either nuts, or false prophets--by now you probably have about 20 responses.
No- we are not sanctioned by the pope and also most every other religious leader, and do not care to be. Hope you find your answers , but this is just a question and answer place & you would have to have a file, at least the size of the Bible itself with all you might receive.

I agree, everyone should find out for themselves.
But I would recommend going to the source and not to opposers.
I have found many "sites" present 'half truths' 'misquotes', and 'lies'.
example:
With regard to 1975:
‘What about the year 1975? What is it going to mean, dear friends?’ asked Brother Franz. ‘Does it mean that Armageddon is going to be finished, with Satan bound, by 1975? It could! It could! All things are possible with God. Does it mean that Babylon the Great is going to go down by 1975? It could. Does it mean that the attack of Gog of Magog is going to be made on Jehovah’s witnesses to wipe them out, then Gog himself will be put out of action? It could. But we are not saying. All things are possible with God. But we are not saying. And don’t any of you be specific in saying anything that is going to happen between now and 1975."
The Watchtower, 15 October 1966, page 631.
It's amazing how 'could' has been changed to "will".
or
"I am" in John's Gospel
The Expository Times, 1996, page 302 by Kenneth Mckay.
"The verb 'to be' is used differently, in what is presumably its basic meaning of 'be in existence', in John 8:58: prin Abraam genesthai ego eimi, which would be most naturally translated 'I have been in existence since before Abraham was born', if it were not for the obsession with the simple words 'I am'. If we take the Greek words in their natural meaning, as we surely should, the claim to have been in existence for so long is in itself a staggering one, quite enough to provoke the crowd's violent reaction."
The Christian Apologetics and Research Ministry admits that there are times when the present tense in Greek can be translated into the English perfect tense:
"Does the Bible ever legitimately translate the present tense 'ego eimi' into the English perfect tense "I have been."? Yes it does. In John 14:8-9 it says, "Philip said to Him, 'Lord show us the Father, and it is enough for us.' 9Jesus said to him, 'Have I been so long with you, and yet you have not come to know Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; how do you say, 'Show us the Father?'" Where Jesus says, "I have been" is in the Greek present tense, 'ego eimi'. Literally, again, this is "I am." Here we have an example of the present being translated into the perfect tense. If we did not do this, then the English would say this in response to Philip's request for Jesus to show them the Father, "I am with you so long...." That is awkward in the English, so translators translate it as "Have I been so long with you...." It is legitimate to do this in some instances where it is warranted.
But, the NWT's version of John 8:58 is not warranted, particularly if you look at the context."
But what the CARM writer does not inform it's readers of is that it is not only the producers of The New World Translation that think that the "ego eimi" at John 8:58 can be translated as "I have been," as the quote above shows.
These are just two of the many examples.
