Or just utterly mental?
http://www.davidicke.com/index.php/
It looks to me as if he's peddled a mixture of stating the obvious (amazingly, he predicted that there'd be a hurricane in southern USA - where they regularly have hurricanes), vague ideas that could be attributed to ANYTHING (fathers will follow sons) and complete nonsense (the queen is a reptile).
Am I missing out by refusing to take any notice of him? Should someone have a word in his ear? Is anyone actually convinced, or are they just amused by him?

BentonBakerSouth: 9/11 was clearly not the work of a muslim terrorist? Go on, educate me - what makes you say that? Can you back that up in any way?

Barbara L. After reading your answer and looking at the links you provided I have to admit that I'm taking back SOME of what I said, and I have to confess that the Channel 5 documentary cast him in a very poor light.
After an (admittedly cursory) look through the links though, I still believe that the main points he is making can be divided into 'obvious', 'vague', and 'nonsense'.
However he does go to the effort of backing up what he says. He is to be commended for having the courage to stand up and speak his mind, knowing full well that he is holding himself up to ridicule.
My problem with him is this: The focus of his argument is lost from the moment he mentions the lizard people, and use of bizarre words like "illuminati".
What we hear and see from the press and politicians is a more accurate reflection of the commercial interests of the people/organisations saying it than it is of the truth. My theory is that MOST PEOPLE KNOW THEY ARE BEING LIED TO AND DON'T CARE.

(cont'd from above)
The vast majority of people know that what they hear and see is not necessarily the truth, but because it rarely affects them directly, who gives a monkeys?
I applaud him for trying, I really do (and the links you have provided do show that there is more about him than I had previously realised) - but he begins his argument by alienating the very people he is trying to convince with tales of reptilian beings will never jolt ANYONE into action. By implying a belief that people are gullible enough to believe the press is surely missing the point (Most people don't lack intelligence, they lack compassion).
Surely the point should be to make them care. I don't know whether anyone could successfully do that.

I advise you take a look at these pages before condemning Mr. Icke. I have read all his books and been awed by his insights for a dozen years now. Sadly my innocence of the world was completely slaughtered by his disclosures. I still have a problem with the lizard thing, but as for the political from ancient to current times, he is right on. Many people have trouble with Mr. Icke because he challenges their established ways of thinking. The things he proposes are just too horrible for them to accept or take in. However, ignorance is not bliss, contrary to rumour. To ignore his warnings is to join the "sheeple" and continue to shuffle mindlessly along. Mr. Icke gave up a lucrative career to try to open the eyes of the world and should be commended and thanked for his sacrifices. Surely this is a man who has let his actions speak as loudly as his words, against all opposition, and deserving of respect. Yes, he did change my thinking because he pulled together things I had questioned for many years into a viable form. I have found people either accept him or deny him vehemently because his words rouse strong passions and thoughts. Good things, all good things, if it helps the human race at this dire point in our history.

Everybody is entitled to personal revelation, but only for themselves. However, if a man is a prophet of God, and has been duly ordained and set apart as such by one having authority from God to do so, then that is another matter.
I can say that anyone who is a self-professed mouthpiece of God most certainly isn't divinely authorised, and I would have to add Mr Icke to this category. He may have foretold calamity, but that is something which can be done by examining probability. Indeed many have done it - Nostradamus for one!

People laughed at Copernicus when he said that the earth went round the sun.
When Lister put forward the theory that bacteria cause infection, someone in that lecture shouted to shut the door to stop them getting in.
I can't prove things either way, but I must admit that the documentary did expose a couple of flaws in our society. My favourite one was when a policeman asked him to stop filming the Houses of Parliament, and he said 'We are caught on 300 cameras every day, why can't I own one of them?' the policeman then started saying things like, 'because you can't' and 'I say so'.
He is as entitled to his opinions as you are to yours.

You are correct. David Icke is a delusional loon inspired by "V" and "They Live". And bizarrely, he does have a number of "followers" who believe him. I ran into one on the Godlike forums, who was utterly convinved that he could tell if someone was a "lizard" by running a photo through a dozen filters.
