Dear TTC,

i think some of the dangers that believers struggle with in their walks with God are:

1) Keeping God first- i think in this day and age it is so rare to see people who are completely sold out for God. i think things like busyness and worldliness have really affected people's values and the value that should be given to God. In a sense worshipping other things. The scriptures tells us: where your treasure is there your heart will also be. To many God is important but not where they place all their hope.

2) Greed/Lust: i think these are two values that are highly valued by the world- and any Christian who works and just looking at how blatant sexuality is in our culture- it's a struggle that needs prayer, accountability and is more common than people would like to admit.

3) Trusting God: When we look at those in the Bible who walked closely with God- we found times of distress, times of not understanding exactly what God was doing- but we must learn to be like Job who could say though He slay me i will yet trust in Him. In other words- there are times when life does not make sense, where things are overwhelming and we have to trust that God's plans are for good, (Jeremiah 29:11) and all things work out for the good of those called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28-29).

4) Remaining Faithful: The Proverbs ask who can find a faithful man? And also that God searches through and fro throughout the earth looking for hearts that are loyal to him (2 Chronicles 16:9). i think faithfulness to God is rare- and so it's an encouragement for the faithful to remain faithful and to be a light.

Hope that helps.

Kindly,

Nickster

There are two that are very deceitful, apathy and impatience. Both of these destroy a genuine walk with the Lord. It is so easy to get lazy in our spiritual disciplines, and to think that they are not important, and slowly we just drift away. Impatience is even more deceitful because it sounds spiritual but is really one of the greatest enemies. Impatience is what the children of Israel fell into when traveling to the promised land. The Bible teaches us that spiritual maturity , just like physical maturity, takes place through a process of growth. It takes years to know God and some of the disciplines we do now may not bear fruit for 30 years or more in our lives. The lure to instant spirituality causes Christians to seek after experiences which are only temporary and not spiritually productive. Children do not go to bed 3 years old, have an experience, and wake up 15 years old in the morning. Neither do Christians. We need the wilderness to mature us and turn us into warriors for the Lord. Hope you understand what I am trying to say.

Edit: If you get the drift of what I am saying, apathy and impatience. One wants to go faster than God wants to take us, and the oher wants to go slower. Both reject the process of what God has for us. When we simply place ourselves into God's hands and allow Him to mould us in His time and in His way, then the process of God takes place.

I think one of the greatest danger that a believer battles is doubt. It comes from everywhere: family, friends, media, school, society... they all try to make us try to doubt out faith. There are people who take pleasure and find enjoyment in destroying your faith, that is why it's so important that we surround ourselves with brothers and sisters of like mind, who will encourage you on your walk with God, who will have your back and support you when doubt sets in. I try and limit my interaction the best I can with those people who would plant those seeds of doubt. You don't need people around you who are not supportive of you and your beliefs.

Lying. Everyone believes in telling little white lies so you don't hurt someones feelings. You are not allowed to give your honest opinion about certain issues, such as religion, without being labeled something like a bigot, intolerant, racist, hypocrite, stupid, etc.

May God Bless you.

one is unbelief...we struggles not against flesh and blood but against the spiritual forces of this dark world.satan main target is our mind.as we all know that satan is the father of lies.(way back in the garden of eden,he twisted the truth when he tempted eve)....another is the lust of the flesh (human nature),lust of the eye (love of money) and pride of life.
as a believer...we commit sin everyday because we are not perfect and have our own weaknesses.
But we have the fruit of the Holy Spirit as our guidance.

I guess ridicule.

I don't know why one would face ridicule when Christianity is the dominant religion in our society.
