I see many people saying that if you accept Jesus then you are forgiven for your sins. There was a question asking if a rapist and killer could go to heaven and some people answered that if he accepted Jesus. Is that true? If it is, then why would one try to live a life of goodness when they could live a life doing whatever they wanted to and just believe in Jesus? I dont mean to offend, I'm just confused about this. please no disrespect thank you

if you are a christian you can do what ever you want commit as many sins as you like lived a debauched an immoral life. just repent say sorry worship god and do it all again. and you can go to heaven. but if you are an atheist or an agnostic or follow any other religion. you will go to hell. take people out of poverty improve society make a better world or save hundreds of lives you will goto hell. so why live a moral athiest life when you could live a fulfilling christian one. i ask you?

im always getting handed pamphlets in the street telling me (basically) that im going to burn in hell if i dont accept christ.. quite frankly im getting a bit fed up of it. Im an agnostic and i gotta admit, jesus sounds like a nice guy (a little over hyped maybe) and ive got nothing against the whole christian thing, what i dont like is all this heaven and hell bull**** (because lets face it, that is exactly what it is.. someone will have a go at me for saying that but its pretty obvious the whole concept of the devil and hell was created by the church to scare people into giving tithes).. and why always christians? ive never had an attempted conversion by hindus, muslims, budhists whatever.

if they have no Spirituality nor Religion. You don't see me answering questions on Mongolian Culture. I'm not necessarily trying to convert anyone to any particular religion, nor promoting any form of spirituality in this question. If I never had seen a car to be able to believe there was a such thing, I sure as hell wouldn't answer any automotive questions. How could I?

What religion would you vote most "bizarre" (meaning their beliefs, traditions, ceremonies, holidays, whatever). The most off-beat and quirky religion wins! (As long as it's real and verifiable--I will do a search!) Don't bore me with too many details, but make sure to include at least two reasons why it should be considered the strangest. =) Thanks!

How did you know you wanted to live out a life of faith and become a Pastor? I'm still rather young, but I feel this intense fire within me, which is my faith & I know this term is rarely used any more, but I feel as if it's my "calling". I'm just seeking advice from any Pastor willing to share their wisdom. Thank you,and God bless.
Additional Details

I am of Lutheran denomination, so yes, female Pastors are recognized. Please don't tell me that it's wrong for women to become Pastors. I certainly can respect & accept your beliefs if you feel this way, but please do not go off on a tangent about that, thank you. Peace.

I have to say that I'm unconvinced by the godhood of jeshua/jesus, but I found the words of the sermon on the mount (Mathew?) extremely valuable and convincing, starting with 'blessed are..' they form an excellent counterpoint to the laws of Moses 'Thou shalt not..'
That a human being suffer torment and anguish and physical pain could utter ' forgive them father for they know not what they do' or enduring the agony of crucifixion could comfort a thief and fellow sufferer with the words 'this day you shall enter the kingdom of heaven' offers hope to us all..even at the eleventh hour..(at any rate this particular passage has been an inspiration to me). I believe the authenticity of these words ..they are so raw and visceral they could not be invented. I do not know of the the divinity of christ, but surely we should live our lives through his example even as a man?

I've only been here a few days, and though I will admit that I have seen people who are christian (as far as I can know) that ask silly questions, I have yet to ask a question that I wasn't going to take seriously. I am more than willing to discuss your ideas about evolution and the ideas of subjective morality, and even though we may disagree I think that it is enjoyable.

If your enjoyment is derived from asking silly questions about a belief that many people take seriously, then I don't see the point in having this site other than as an ego booster to people who'd rather have a quick laugh and high 'stats' in some silly cyber world.

but maybe it's just my perception. I'm not feeling too well right now : 0

Is there any observation which supports any feature of your theory? (An adequate answer to this question will not be something which is a problem for evolution, but is rather evidence for your theory. Remember that it is logically possible for both evolution and your theory to be false. Something which appears to support Lamarkian evolution rather than Darwinian, or punctuated equilibrium rather than gradualism is not enough. Also, the observation must be something which can be checked by an independent observer.

Is there any observation which was predicted by your theory?

If I die without believing in him, won't I go to Hell? Why wouldn't he want to save me from that, when all it takes is just to convince me he exists?

I don't believe in Heaven or Hell in the Christian sense. I don't believe in Reincarnation or Karma or the influence of the cosmos on our lives. My mind is too logical for all that. Can I believe in anything?
