SPREAD THE WORD OF GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!

K... their Church is officially called The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. JESUS CHRIST... yet people say they aren't Christian?? I know they believe in the Crucifixion and resurrection, they believe in His atoning sacrifice and that He was the son of God... Which, by the way, they do NOT believe is Joseph Smith...

Why do so many people claim that they are not a Christian faith? It seems silly to me.

Seems to me that ALL life is sacred, so why do I see so many people decrying abortion as "murder" but cheer on the execution of convicts? Aren't both fetuses and inmates capable of conversion or repentance either here or in the afterlife?

The fingerprints of the Author are in the very text we hold in our laps. Have you ever noticed the sevens in the bible? They occur in over 600 passages some are very overt, some are simply structural, and some are hidden. Take for example the geneology of Jesus
number of words used exact multiple of 7
number of letters divisible by7
number of vowels divisible by 7
number of word that begin with a vowel divisible by 7
number of word that occur in more than one form divisible by 7
# of nouns divisible by 7
# of names divisible by 7 and only 7 other kinds of nouns are used
# of male names divisible by 7
# of generations divisible by 7
This structure was discovered by Dr Ivan Panin. in the opening eleven verses in the Gospel of Matthew, in Greek.
this is just one such example
Theres another way to know the bible is true. Jesus gave you a challenge in John 7:17 "If any man will do his will he shall know the doctrine whether it be of God or whether I speak of myself"
see??

ok, why do Aetheists target Christianity the most? Why are you in such a panic to prove that there is no God? I don't see anyone trying to disprove Budd'ha, Vishnu, Allah or anyone else, yet they say "Jesus didn't walk on water" or "God is evil"

SO WHY?

Society(especially US society) is like a person that has a problem and know he/she has a problem;so they go to the phsychiatrist to get help with their problem. But for some odd reason when the person gets to the doctors office to get help with their problem;for some reason they start denying that they have a problem.Doctor tells them well you came here,so their must be something wrong. And the person just very adimantly denies having any kind of problem;and refuses to evan listen to anyone(doctor, parents, spouses ect.) tryna convince them and show them that they need to go back and let the doctor help them.

Does this not sound like the spiritual and mental state of society(US & otherwise) today?Everybody know there's a problem, christians know there's a problem, and evan a few other that arnt christian know. And when we try and let them know how to fix what's wrong, they refuse the help.

Agree with the comparison or No?Explain why?

I think that maybe one day someone made a joke, like, "Oh Jesus, you think you're the Son of God don't you?" and then he went around messing with everyone's mind and then everyone believed him.
And he made up the story of the three kings and his virgin mother and all that, maybe because he was embarrased about his mother being a whore.

now I've known a few satanists here & there. & yes, they are good people. & what is preached about in their doctrine is interesting. but naming a religion after "the adversary"? it's like putting a corvette engine in a mustang. it's hypocrisy!
satanists? with all respect, couldn't of you looked a little more around before choosing a religion that has such a name?
maybe it's just me, but i think anton levey created the religion out of spite of christianity (which has flaws of it's own, but non so apparent).

Obviously, the less said about the majority (and I apologise profusely for the minority who ask and answer questions maturely and comprehensively) on Y! Answers, the better.

On both sides of the debate, we see people using "facts" that are clearly not based on any balanced reading of the subject. Circular arguments, and non-arguments abound.

Even many of the academics who engage in this debate in public perform little better. While I have not yet read Richard Dawkins's "God Delusion", I did see the "The Root of All Evil", the TV series of the book. While some reasonable points were made, this series primarily seemed to consist of Dawkins making dubious, often hackneyed claims - such as religion causing most wars - and winding up theists (notably Ted Haggard), particularly extremists (who clearly present easy targets). Dawkins is supposed to be a leading academic - I expect much better.

maybe I am phycially tired today but I am tired of always hearing that people don't believe in God b/c of all the suffering in the world, b/c people die of certain diseases, b/c innocent people have bad things happen to them. Lets take some personal responsibility for our actions: WE are killing the ozone, WE have put animals out of existance, WE aren't teaching our children by a poor example, WE created many STD's with sexual immorality, WE let priests continue to molest little boys with no consequences, WE are taking God out of schools, WE are trying to be friends with our kids not parents, WE are getting a divorce b/c WE didn't know the person in the first place, WE are destroying our world!!

WE ARE REAPING WHAT WE HAVE SOWN.

We are taking God out of a country that was founded on Christian principles. WE are asking God to butt out and leave us alone and now that he is, WE are crying he doesn't fix what we are destroying and so WE don't want to believe.
