ok, why do Aetheists target Christianity the most? Why are you in such a panic to prove that there is no God? I don't see anyone trying to disprove Budd'ha, Vishnu, Allah or anyone else, yet they say "Jesus didn't walk on water" or "God is evil"

SO WHY?

Simply put, because Atheist know that there is something out there, they just don't know what it is. Ask any person, atheist included to look at a painting, then ask them how that painting became a painting, or to look at a book, then ask them how that book became a book. Logically everyone would say that someone painted that picture or someone or some people wrote that book.... so in short they know that everything has something behind it or it would not be. But if you ask them about Creation, they come up with all kinds of crazy ideas. It just doesn't fit. Painting = Painter, Book = Author, Creation = Creator. Argue that for me. If everything "evolved" or just "appeared" then why does it still not happen to this day. No one cannot prove that there is no God, no Creator, just like everything else in this world.

Another tidbit of info I have also read, some dis-believe in the Bible, but actually believe in Zodiac signs. The Bible they say has been written by many men or many people out of a man's head so they do not credit it with thoughts, words from God. I ask this then, what justifies all other reads? I guess they are all divinely written.

P.S. I love all the thumbs down ratings, it makes my point out for me. Keep em coming people.

Buddha was an atheist. Vishnu (and many other deities besides) are not used as the basis of political voting, etc., by the majority in the West. And Allah is the Arabic word for God (used to translate God in the Arabic translation of the Bible), so the word is equivalent, not a separate thing to be addressed.

An overwhelmingly Christian form of theism, on the other hand, holds a significant amount of sway on politics in many Western countries. For instance, there are still 7 states where it is illegal for an atheist to hold public office. Atheists are often very scientific in their thinking, and Christianity does not and cannot stand to reason and science. All in all, atheists in the Western world simply direct their attention mainly toward the largest threat within their society.

Peace!
Because knowingly or unknowingly they are serving their god - s. There is really no such thing as an atheist except a newborn baby. Atheism is blatant denial of the existence of God. People become atheists because they do not want to take the responsibility of obeying God's commandments.
Soldiers who have combat experience say there are no atheists in foxholes. I agree with that. I am a Eucharistic minister. I give communion to the sick and dying and I tell you when an atheist is in this situation he will ask for a priest.
God bless!

I don't believe god is evil, but I do believe that belief in god brings more harm than good into the world.

Second the region I and probably most other atheists here rag on Christianity the most is that it is the largest religion in the world. And I like many people here live in America where at least 80% of the population is Christian. Therefore I spend most of my time talking to
Christians.

But don't worry I think all religions are equally false.

I assume you're only talking to the small segment of atheists that actually care what Christians or anybody else for that matter believes.

I'm not in a panic to prove or disprove anything that Christians believe. I respect their right to believe whatever they want...however they want.

Don't put people in 1 bag and put a label on it....it makes your argument/statement look silly.

By "god" we means all god(s) in general. I usually make it clear that I mean all religions, all books. They are kind of all the same and follow the same principles. They all only have books to show. All believe in some higher power they can't question or challenge. And they all follow it without proof. And allah is god.

To the guy stating we have crazy theories painting = painter very insane. If you actually believe in a god than something had to either make him or he just always was. Looks like someone droped the paint brush on that one.

Atheists don't "target" Christians. They're usually defending themselves from whack jobs who are screaming at them that they're evil, promiscuous, and going to burn in hell. They don't want to hear people ramming their religion down their throats. People of other religions don't do that as much as Christians do.

And it is not correct to say that people become atheists because they don't want the "responsibility" of obeying God. They become atheists because they just start to believe that the whole idea of a God is nothing more than a myth. The same way you say that Zeus and Athena are myths. It's that kind of ignorant thinking, and preaching that makes it difficult for Christians to wrap their narrow brains around the fact that all people don't believe what they believe, and that the people who don't believe what they believe aren't evil. They're just NORMAL people, trying to live their lives.

The Buddha is not a god, Allah is the same god.

The reason christians get criticised more than others is because of their supercillious arrogance. Not all christians are like this I might add, but the reasonable ones probably don't get as much cristicism as the rest.

ATHEISTS... are annoyed with Christians more. A lot of us were Christians and therefor very familiar with the religion.

Hindus, Jews, Buddhists, etc.. don't go around sending us to hell online and in person on a daily basis for not believing in their religions (would say god, but, Buddhists don't "officially" have one!).

(I think I've answered this question 3 times today lol)

Oh Yahoo Answers I do see a trend against Christianity, but we atheists try to be equally derisive. It's probably because most people on these boards are not familiar with other religions.
