I've only been here a few days, and though I will admit that I have seen people who are christian (as far as I can know) that ask silly questions, I have yet to ask a question that I wasn't going to take seriously. I am more than willing to discuss your ideas about evolution and the ideas of subjective morality, and even though we may disagree I think that it is enjoyable.

If your enjoyment is derived from asking silly questions about a belief that many people take seriously, then I don't see the point in having this site other than as an ego booster to people who'd rather have a quick laugh and high 'stats' in some silly cyber world.

but maybe it's just my perception. I'm not feeling too well right now : 0

If you dont like what is being discused then leave, Likewise I hate the atheist spammers who post stupid little questions but I would never attempt to extinugish their enjoyment in asking ignorent questions.
On another note I hate the religious people who post a page full of biblical quotes with no real reason behind them to try and justify their faith, I would never attempt to stop them either.
Both groups make their parent group look bad, and each individual has several reasons for wasting bandwidth and time I am sure.
But the internet was made for communication, for better or worse.

There are trollers on both sides of the fence. And then there are people who just come on here to say something that they know will get people really upset. They will say something derogatory and demeaning about Christians or Muslims and then come back a few minutes later and put down agnostics and atheists. That is just how they get their "jollies". Don't let the bad eggs make you blind to the good people on here. Some of them are theists and some are not.

I agree - spamming is quite lame. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and attempt to venture a guess as to why atheists & agnostics seem so militant on this site.

My guess would be that this site is designed to provide people with logical explanations to their questions while citing sources and tapping multiple areas of information. Religion & Spirituality however are based on faith which makes it inelegible for a rational, scientific discussion that you'll see in every other category on Yahoo Answers.

I'll concede that the agnostic view of theology is the only scientifically accurate one so perhaps that is why there is an abundance of people professing their views.

Yes there are lots of hurtful and accusing questions (sorry but this is sort of one of them) you could have said why are people, and not generalise to one group of people. Because the questions that have upset you, are questions like this, the same thing.

I post questions that i try and word to not hurt anyone, but still someone will take it the wrong way call me names etc etc. I'm not trying to put anyone down, or put anyone's beliefs down. It's hard to figure out just where people are coming from on the net because of a lack of facial expressions and the rest of it that you pick up in face to face convo's

best advice is just not to let it bother you!! be the bigger person!

hope you start feeling better.

Well you have to realize that anyone can come on this site. I believe that many of the 'silly' questions are asked by 'silly' kids who feel a warped sense of power in being able to stir things up.

Besides for every silly question asked by atheists....there are usually several idiotic answers by christians.

Try to take the question in the spirit in which it was asked. Hard to do, I know.

Honestly, I am trying to get a couple of points across. It is hard to knock on a closed brain.

Spam: Unwanted commercial email

Trolling: Starting a thread with an inflammatory statement in the hopes of getting a rise out of newbies and the hypersensitive.

If you don't answer them, Trolls will not continue. They only continue to see how much vitriol they can stir up.

There is no basis of blaming us. People who actually spam the site are of any and all backgrounds. And those that post stupid questions, that aren't at least humorous, are just idiots.

It's not spamming, it's called trolling. Spamming is posted links to unwanted commercial sites. Spamming is a Y!A NO-NO.

You're referring of course to the "godless home mortgage enlargement pills". Hehe. Technically it's trolling, but there are some theistic trolls here too.
