Okay, so the government can in their infinite wisdom decide that people of the same sex cannot marry, that a man can't have more than one wife, and that a young woman like Anna Nicole Smith can't marry an old billionaire. Wait, they can't stop Anna. And even if they don't want to recognize it as a marriage, the government can't stop two men (or women) from living together as though they were married. As a matter of fact, if a man wanted to be polygamous, as long as he didn't try to marry all of them, he could live with as many women as he could get to fall under his spell.

The point here is that all the government can do is regulate the "legal" marriage, but they can't stop people from living the way they want.

So what can advocates for the "traditional" family do to protect it?

Some children these days are forced to go to church and learn about the bible and are told it is all complete fact. And that science is all complete lies and to ignore it at all cost if it disrupts your religion. This is told to someone that instantly beleives in the tooth fairy easter bunny santa clause so on. How can this abuse of children be stoped.

If someone is Christian and believes in Christ, God, and Satan, can these things be mixed with their understanding of God? Many people into New Age and New Thought Beliefs keep visualization boards or journals, and repeat affirmations daily. I know certain scriptures are similar to affirmations such as "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" and similar scriptures?

My family is protestant, specifically Brethren in Christ and my father recently announced that he already made plans to be cremated upon death. I was angry because I always thought it was a sin, or at least not what God wants. He is doing it only because it is cheaper...........a stupid reason if you ask me.
When the time comes and my father is cremated, will he be accepted into Heaven?

go through all the emotions like anger, sadness , despair etc when confronted with mans ignorance, lack of empathy and sheer cruelty to innocent animals ? I watched a few shows on Animal Planet tonight and I am flabbergasted by what I saw. It beggars belief that there are people who dont realise that animals are sentient beings.Is it lack of education?I would appreciate genuine opinions

I started reading The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren. Within the first three pages I realized that the Lord was giving me another chance. The problem is that I don't know what denomination to attend. I used to go to a non-denominational church, but it's so far away. I don't like churches that are highlighted by the type of community in it (caucasian, hispanic, African American) because I want my son to see a mixed community and not become segregated. Are there any contemporary churches that teach about the word, worship, and provide the message in a modern way? Where do I find that in Maryland? I thought of Arlington, VA. What denomination is Pastor Rick Warren's church?

I have known this man 3 months. He has asked me to marry him. I am a Christian but although I am back slidden, I know that I should not marry a man who is not right for me. I cannot bear another failed marriage. I know I should ask God to guide me rather than ask for advice on here, but I am scared to make myself vulnerable again. I love God. I know he loves me. I think it may be all old hurts from when i was a child coming out.

What would you say i should do to stop this, do you think i should continue meditating... do healing??? It's not a problem because i dont mediate much, but i think it would be best to get rid of the deep stuff.

Has anyone else experienced this???

Most of the religions direct 13 to 45 days ceremonies when any human dies. At the same time the religions preach that in all living creatures GOD is present. In such case when such creatures in a person's home die no ceremony is performed. Even the Evil Sprits and Ghosts are said as the souls of human beings only and not the souls of any other creation of God. I have not heard of Lizard's Ghost or Tree's Ghost or Cow's Ghost after they are slained or killed.These clearly make me to think that there can not be any thing to be done as ceremony after the death of person and these practise are adopted to part with one's money. But is this a correct practise that even if a poor dies he is advised to spend lot of money on the pretext of doing ceremony to his deceased father or mother. Is it not high time that the soceity to be advised to stop these practise.

The problem is, I told him a huge lie as an excuse for not swimming once (back in the summer!), and it elevated. Now he believes it, and, while it doesn't come up, like, ever, I feel terrible about it, especially now that I'm trying to get serious in my relationship with Christ. What do I do?
